Check these out for a semi-trip down memory lane. www.freewebs.com/gbta/unreleased.htmTis a shame some of these did'nt get the final OK. The backpack heroes could stay in development hell if anything. ===KEN

Does anyone else thing there are several things wrong with the concept behind a fire engine with a giant claw on it that can grab ghosts and sling them into an on-board containment unit?

Alas, only available on Mattel's US site, like the He-Man range.
Oh, Mattel, when will you learn?

1984 was a good year for enduring properties, I guess. Star Wars had shown developers what was possible and they had finished their trilogy so I guess there was a bit of a gold rush to take up the slack.

I never did see figures of the Ghostbusters team from 2016 at UK retail. Very odd. I saw three ghost characters but none of the actual team to fight them.

I never even saw ghost figures. I only saw the "Proton Pistol" dart-blaster, sitting unloved amongst the Lanard and Hasbro dart-blasters in Smyths.

Up until the beginning of this month it was still there in Smyths. It seems to have disappeared in the post-Christmas reset - probably when they adjusted things to make room for the Lanard Revolver and double-barrelled shotgun coming back into stock.

They have been spotted by Smokesniper on twitter in Home Bargains for £3.99 today. Neither of my local stores have them yet, but it's great if you know someone who is still after them. If you don't have a Home Bargains near you but you do have a ToySaurus, but at £6.49. www.toysrus.co.uk/toys/ghostbusters-6-figure-jillian-holtzmann/TRUP920100008

The Matty collector Ghostbusters have been spotted showing up in Home Bargains, yet not either of my local stores yet. I read £3.99 and £5.99. I am too dumb to understand the thing to put posts from twitter etc in here, so here is a link from Spoonatron sending me a tweet earlier confirming finding them instore.

After many years of passing on the Extreme Ghostbusters line, I made an exception for the not so show accurate Sam Hein figure.

After many years of passing on the Extreme Ghostbusters line, I made an exception for the not so show accurate Sam Hein figure. Dont think i had many of the extreme Ghostbusters toys when i was younger. We used to get the choice between toys and chocolate and easter and i would pick toys. For a couple of years it was the Real Ghostbusters stuff and it was amazing. Some of the stuff was dumb as rocks but it all worked.

I loved the Extreme Ghostbusters show. But I ended up making the call to not get invested in the toys, because it seemed unlikely that all the main characters would get made (or at least be findable if they were)
It's kinda said that this is an intentionally forgotten corner of the franchise.

Now you see Garret coulda been a goldmine. They coulda done up all kinds of crazy vehicles for him. Trendmasters never really could figure out how to market actionfigures, though.

They have arrived! Got a few quid off due to damaged cards but really other than a tear at the top of the Stay-Puft card, I can't see what is wrong with them.
The figures are much larger, chunkier and heftier than I remembered. Real Ghostbusters toys were gold dust back in the day where I stayed. I only ever had the Fright Feature ones of the team. Played with some other ones at school break times.
These are really well made in the same way the SW Retro figures are well made. Both 'retro' lines are so much better than crappy Re-Actions figs. This is how to do it.
I hope these sell well enough that Hasbro think about re-issuing Ecto-1 and the Firehouse! The latter was spoken of in fervent wishes in school days: no-one had one but everyone knew of "an Uncle" who had one.

One of my friends had the Firehouse! It was pretty great.
My brother had one of the original figures, but I can't remember which now. I'd definitely like to get one myself for old times' sake.
