I attended Spring Fair yesterday, which is a big trade fair that fills the NEC and covers just about anything you can think of in gifts and housewares. I was worried on Monday night that I wouldn't make it because of the snow, but my trains were running and on time; they weren't busy so I had a pleasant journey, taking in the snowy scenery.
A new Transformers licensee for Revenge of the Fallen is fancy dress company, Rubies. Its Optimus Prime and Bumblebee Deluxe costumes are an improvement over the previous costumes and include moulded mask (also available separately) and moulded detachable chestpiece. These are available in several child sizes and also (perhaps especially for Ralph) in adult sizes. The catalogue also lists intriguingly-named Adult Deluxe Transforming costumes of Optimus and Bumblebee. Unfortunately, these are not pictured and were not on display.
Also new to the brand is Zap Ltd, with a wide range of Revenge of the Fallen lunch products including lunch bags, plastic sports bottles, aluminium sports bottles, freezable containers, tumblers, etc. They have a similar range for Animated. (There will also be a smaller range for G.I. Joe.)
The greetings card licence for Revenge of the Fallen moves to Danilo. They were displaying perhaps twenty designs, all featuring Bumblebee and Optimus on the front. They will also be releasing the 2010 calendar.
Gemma International, which produced the 2007 film greetings cards and "G1" cards in 2008, continues its association with the Transformers brand with a range of Animated cards and wrapping paper.
Thumbs Up UK will be reintroducing their illuminating T-shirt range with new designs and also plan to introduce a range of leather wallets, etched with logos and other images.
Other companies with existing licences that will be producing Revenge of the Fallen products are Zap (bedding), Alpa UK (stationery) and, as previously mentioned in the Toy Fair report, GB Eye (posters).
Clock/gadget manufacturer Wesco wasn't exhibiting. I assume they will be continuing with Transformers products and would speculate that last year's unreleased items (which were understandably dropped in favour of Clone Wars) will be released to tie in with Revenge of the Fallen.
