OK so it's not Tankorr it's Octane but the Trademark has slipped. Still the name is a good one referring to one of the toy's alternate modes.
(a sidenote - did anyone else think that Hasbro got the names Scourge and Mega Octane mixed up in RID ? I always though Mega Octane was more appropriate for a large tanker truck)
Tankorr's primary vehicle mode - the one he's package in - is a Transport Plane. 4 Propellers - 2 on each wing spin freely - you can blow on them and they'll spin. Dual cannons are under each wing and it looks pretty good bar the blue angular chunkiness on the tail and the undercarriage looking too big for the bottom of the plane - in fact the plane itself looks better with this bit removed.
Transformation can be made from any mode to eiher of the others but we'll go to the 2nd vehicle first. Fold the wings up above the plane and remove the guns. Fold the tail fins on the side up. Split the tail of the plane in 2 and twist each half round 180 degrees so that the inside is now on the outside. Fold the end of the tail down so the tail fins are inside or along the line of the tail. Fold the entire tail section up so that the folded up wings are within it and lock round the wings. Fold up the undercarriage so it's behind the blue cab halves. Find the Decepticon symbol which has been exposeed under and to the back of the plane nose - fold the panels eiother side of it together. Open the nose of the jet out, fold down and back so they're in line with the rest of the vehicle. Lock into place - there are slots in what used to be the plane's undercarriage for them to lock into. Turn over. Reattach weapons to either the front or the rear pair of holes.
Tanker truck is the weakest mode for many reasons - not all the wheels roll and the ones that don't together with the rotor blades under the tanker stop both front sets rolling. The fuel tank itself is square rather than round, and open at the back displaying the halves of the jet front. There's lots of space at the top and rear of the cab. Lots of the toy is visible through the sides of the truck. They've tried but this mode doesn't really work.
TF to robot: Unclip the plane nose halves from the rear of the tanker, and remove the top of the tanker/plane under carriage from it's remaining attachment point. Fold them back together to form the plane nose, and then fold the plane nose halves down to the sides. Fold the top half of each plane nose down to form the forearm, and position at elbow and wrist. Push up on the folded together flaps to raise the head, then fold back to form the chest plate, which in tiurn should lock the shoulders in place. Seperate the front of the tanker out, and fold down what was the rear half of the plane. Fold the tanker cab windows forward to become feet and extend the legs by pulling on them. Some options now for the wings. Youy could reattach the guns and fold the wings up behind the head so the guns point over the shoulders. Or fold out behind the shoulder halves. Or fold out behind the shoulder halves and fold up. The guns can be legs mounted, attached as above, used as hand weapons or mbined into a larger hand weapon. The undercarriage can (just about) be used as a Skateboard, but is more obviously held as a shield or opened up as a melee weapon.
Articulation - thanks to the TF the cab halves can bend to form an ankle. There's a slight sideways bend at the knee to aid balance, as well as the traditional knee joint. The upper leg is very short - especially compared to the lower leg - this ends in a swivel joint bellow the ball jointed hips. No waist here. The neck aught to swivel but is restricted on mine by the head not quite rising all the way out. Shoulders can shrug up, and forward, arms wiggle a bit to the sides at the shoulder, and connected to these via a very short upper arm we have ball jointed elbows, longer but still short lower arms and then finally wrists swivel joints. Head looks like it aught to have had a lightpipe but they wissed out on it.
And for completeness sake: Fold the chest panels together and push down the head. Fold the chest panels out again. Fold the arms up to form the nose cone halves and fold up at the shoulder and lock together. Swing each leg round 180 degrees by the joint bellow the hip and lock together. Fold the tanker cab halves down to reveal the tail fins. Fold down the wings. Reattach the under carriage. And we're back to where we started.
Overall: Jet has some minor failings, Tanker has some more major ones and the Robot is out of proportion. It's a good try and a fun toy but misses the mark in several places.
