See uk.geocities.com/philip_ayres@btopenworld.com/cl_astro.html for details on the Astrotrain mold and TFs and www.tfu.info/2006/Decepticon/ClassicsAstrotrain/astrotrain.htm for pics of both Henkei Astrotrain is a complete repaint of the classics mold which drastically alters it's character. The toy is now predominantly grey with grey having replaced all the white and purple - except for the white on the head, upper legs, shoulder pads, fists and wrist guards which are purple as is everything that used to be black. The engine piece for the shuttle is chromed - silver for the nozzles and purple for the rest of it, as is the outside edges of the robot's chest plate. It's a much darker looking toy than before. Now to me a space shuttle should be white, so I'll be keeping the classics version as my Astrotrain. But this new one gives the Classic Decepticon army an extra trooper. Well worth picking up

I have to agree that the white version looks far better. Both in terms of the shuttle mode (which pretty much is a case of "you can have any colour you want, as long as you want white" isn't it?), but I think the lighter colours are actually more flattering to the look of the mold. It doesn't carry the greys so well (in photos at least) they make it look that little bit less interesting. Karl

Since the Decepticons have multiple incarnations of their jet forms (and clones of the Insecticons in the Cartoon) I'm happy with the idea of Henkei Astrotrain being a similarly shaped but differently coloured trooper figure
