This wave of legends toys has just animated characters in it. They are at present only being found at Argos in the UK and are coming together in an exclusive wrap around sleeve. I wasn't going to get them but I had an Argos voucher after buying Jonathan's Christmas presents and Swindon had some in stock so....
Optimus Prime
Decent small replica of the larger Prime. To my eyes the painted on windows look a little on the small side. Shoulders are ball jointed as are the biceps but the plastic limits them so they just rotate while the elbows only bend. The hips are ball jointed and there's a very high waist joint halfway up the chest.
TF: Fold the head down. Swing the chest joint through 180 degrees. Fold the shoulders back under the lightbar. Fold the arms in and up locking them onto the side of the vehicle. Fold the legs back & pegs together then fold the feet down.
Vehicle is a Prime cab but in that oddly sloped and rounded way that Animated has. Rolls freely. Not a bad toy
Bumblebee
Bumblebee's Legend figure captures the elongated face of Animated BB but neglects to include a mouth. He has ball jointed shoulders that shrug up, ball jointed hips and bending knees. His head doesn't turn but can look up & down.
TF: Point the arms up and pull the waist down & back. Rotate the chest, head and arms through 180 degrees so the head is facing forward at the bottom. Push the arms in to form the sides of the vehicle. Fold the lower legs over the upper legs to form the front of the vehicle and lock onto the body via some pegs on the arms that fit slots on the front of the vehicle.
Nice free wheeling little car. Shape is taller than I'm used to for BB and looks a little odd but is basically OK.
Prowl
Tall and thin - mainly black with grey upper arms and waist. Ball jointed elbows, shoulders that fold to the side, head that looks down & up, ball jointed hips attached to a waist that doesn't stay together too well and bending knees above lower legs with a wheel embedded in each.
TF: Turn the forearms at the elbow so the red patches face front. Swing the head back and then bring the arms together above the head locking them together. Fold the back of the waist back. Fold the legs out to the sides. Turn the waist so the legs are parallel to the rest of the vehicle and the leg with the chunkier foot sides is at the opposite end to the arms. Turn the legs at the waist so the wheels face up. Fold down the feet - leaving the wheels behind - till they meet in the middle. Fold the wheels down and lock the wheels onto the legs. Push the top of the bike down onto the bottom.
Bike mode is nice, complete with stand. Black & sleek. Lovely elegant TF, best of any Legend yet. They're really doing well with scaling stuff down now aren't they ?
