It's awesome, David. Good to see Globequake back . Thanks, Ken! It's been seven years since I wrote it. I can't believe it. And if the interest is there, I will do Hubris collections of "Following Earth" and "Aftershocks". At some point.

To say that "I remember" Globequake would be an understatement. To this day, I rank it right up there with Furman's UK comics, Beast Wars and War Within as probably one of the very best Transformers stories period.
It really is sad to see how low Transformers story telling has fallen in the official media and in the movies - but that's what they get for lightly casting aside 15 years of a relatively carefully built continuity in favor of yearly rehashes of bland typecasts...

I went into work this morning to get these printed (response has been much bigger than I was anticipating, so figured it'd be sensible to get a head start) and, lo, we don't have any double-loop wire binds big enough! I shall have to put in an order with the binding people in the morning. Hopefully they won't take too long to arrive.

Ooh, now. If you're new to Hubris, you should start off with a regular issue first. It'd be very brave of you to start off with an 80-pager rather than a 28-pager.

Hmmmm
I do consider myself quite brave. Would this be a foolhardy thing to dive into?

Well, the thing is I always want a person's first Hubris experience to be just so.
If you go for Globequake, all you're getting is 80 pages of exciting, action-filled, revelation-packed, original Transformers fiction. No pictures, though.
But if you go for a normal issue then you get not quite as much exciting, action-filled, revelation-packed, original Transformers fiction along with entertaining and informative reviews and features, exciting colour comic strips, original AtoZ profiles and Tech Specs. All sorts, really!
And if you buy both, then may god have mercy on us all.

Watch a few episodes of Richard and Judy's book club. Or Oprah's book review podcast thing.

And, by the way, that type of binding is called Half Canadian Binding.

I usually go to AA empty handed so I'm free to put jammy fingermarks on the MISB items on the dealers' tables.
But this year I may bag up some Hubris back issue sets to take, if there's interest.
