I do like the uncoloured artwork for that Mosaic. Sadly the colours feel like the wash it all out a bit and seem to flatten it down. Especially the last couple of panels where all the background details get lost.
The "clean" artwork is rather spiffy though.

Fantastic stuff Ed - your lines wouldn't look out of place in an IDW comic. You've managed to take a rather dull script and turn it into a great piece of story telling.
Can see where you're coming from with the colours though.

Great lines there. I do agree about the points raised about the colours and scripts. To be honest most of the Mosaic's are a bit dull script wise. More often than not it's the art that attracts me to them. The ones desperate to shoehorn in to the IDW-ation verse are usually the most guilty.

This piece would be far better if it was self contained. In my mind, the first panel should have been a flashback showing what had happened and why they think they have Sunstreaker. Otherwise, to those who haven't read Escalation or just forgot about it, the plot looks like the Autobots are all idiots who found a junked car, and brought it to Ratchet thinking it was a dead Sunstreaker

It would actually make for a funny story if, say, Pipes or Tailgate brought in a wrecked car.

I do agree that the script was a bit clumsy (and belive me, the original script was much clumsier), and can understand a lot of folks confusion. I accepted the art chores on this one for two major reasons; Ratchet and EJ's designs. I was sold right then.

That is a nice cover image. It is nicely dynamic and striking. I do like the blockiness that you have captured in Blaster there - he is made out of cubes but you have made it make sense visually.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - Ed, why IDW haven't snapped you up is beyond me. This is much better than loads of the stuff they put out. Top notch work again.

That is a very nice Rumble there. Like the "sunglasses" visor that you have given him, it is a bit of a nice touch.

Karl It isn't Rumble, it is actually Enemy! tfwiki.net/wiki/Enemy The more I look at it, the more clever touches I see Ed has put in. From the visor/eye combo from the head-radio, to the leg design matching the way the Enemy radio-figure looked!

I like how on that TFWiki entry one piece of trivia reads 'Enemy is awesome'. Gosh, that's a bit of trivia that will go down well in TF quizzes!
