I would like to ask you beautiful people for help regarding The Big O.
I remember watching this some years ago on CNX/Toonami and it stuck in my mind so much so that I bought the region 1 DVD box sets for Christmas. But after watching the last episode I feel very cheated because there was so much build up to an intriguing conclusion that didn't in the slightest bit turn out how I imagined and to be honest I was confused.
From what I could piece together, it was looking like World War 3 with giant robots had destroyed most of Earth 40 years ago and the only survivors were in Paradyme. But the people of Paradyme had no memory of before 40 years ago. Then it seems that there were these clone humans in the population of Paradyme who had memories of before 40 years ago that were not there own memories and that because of that these clones were living out the life of someone else. Then it seems that there are survivors outside of Paradyme who have grouped together to form The Union. The Union have decided that they will destroy Paradyme because they were double-crossed by Paradyme in an earlier deal.
The storyline goes along with some degree of structure up until it turns out that Paradyme has stage lighting above it in the sky. From then on I get confused and the series finishes right back where it started.
I would like to ask can someone smarter than I please explain the storyline and ending of The Big O please?
