Latest piece of nonsense. "Objects in the rearviewmirror may be more fabulous than they appear"

Not art, as such, but I failed to transform Animated Starscream last night, and discovered..... Gerwalk Mode! And I had to share. Sorry.

I'm sure a Japanese transforming toy range had a toy just like that. Probably Karl will confirm this.

I'm sure a Japanese transforming toy range had a toy just like that. Probably Karl will confirm this. If you mean things with half aircraft, half humanoid modes in general then all of the toy ranges from the various Macross series do, as do both the 1980's and 2008-9 Genesis Climber Mospeada toy lines. If you want to stretch it to include American toylines then some of the Robotech toys do as well - being as two-thirds of Robotech was hacked together from the aforementioned original series. If you mean a toy that looks just like animated Starscream the closest is the YF-19 "Alpha One" from Macross Pluswww.hlj.com/product/YMT00053But really both of them are based on the same source - Sukhoi's Berkut demonstrator what was not bought by the Russian Airforce (due to their not having two roubles to rub together). Somewhere along the line I must have missed you posting the Tracks picture though - great stuff. It is the expression on the face that really sells it for me, defines character very nicely (We now return you to your regularly scheduled thread..... :-) ) Karl

Here's the latest IDW board art comp entry for those of you who don't frequent that den of inquity. And, branching out into the realm of the furry. This guy is Klonoa, from a PS1/PS2 platform game which I love.

Here's the latest IDW board art comp entry for those of you who don't frequent that den of inquity. The "Peace Sells" image is fantastic. It has a vibe very like some of the Marvel US cover images. Great work. I have no idea who Klonoa is I'm afraid, but in technical terms it is a nice piece of work at least. Karl

Say hello to my version of Animated Sunstreaker! Apologies to me bro, who I stole the framing device from. (and who also has the patience of a saint!)

Pretty certain I don't own the concept of adding frames to artwork. And my patience isn't so great either; I dreamed I throttled you with a pair of red pants last night.

Yes. I demanded that he give Sunstreaker the red speedos.

Okay, here's the other Lambo Twin. No pink Speedos for him! And trying something different and playing with colours...

Okay, a coupla new ones. Not too keen on this, too much fiddly detail I think... Back of the class for anyone who doesn't recognise this fella! And finally, a quick sketch to work on my "action" poses. Just so you know, he's fighting invisible sharkticons. lots of them.

Ace!
Rotorstorm is definately the winner here, there's a real confidence in the lines, though the pose looks odd (unless he's flying).
I like the Rodimus piece, but I think it'd be far better if we could see his face. It is a great piece technically, but it seems like we're seeing it from the wrong angle to be effective.
Not so keen on Dragstrip, but that's more my personal preference. I see you've gone for a hybrid of the Universe and G1 Dragstrip and I'm not sure why. The Universe Dragstrip is sweet, celebrate it, don't try to make it something it isn't!
Keep it up, there's some great stuff here!

Liek I said, Hot Rod is more to do with wanting to practice action stuff. Not every person in a story will have thier face to the camera, so I wanted to run with that.
Dragstrip is good, but was better as Mirage. I was bored watching the Bahrain GP, so decided to have a little fun with the toy design.
As for Rotorstorm, it's really kinda taking inspiration from the MTMTE profile book art, so the pose was more to do with looking "dynamic" than owt else really...

I think the Hot Rod is a really nice action shot. I can see it working really well in the context of an action sequence. There is a nice sense of motion to it and I can see how it would work well with a background in place. (I do like the Gangsta shooting style too - strikes me as exactly the sort of thing Hot Rod would be prone to adopt because he thought it was 'kewl'). I love the fireburst as well - it is well executed and creates a nice illusion of brightness - if you see what I mean? I think it is a well-executed bit of action-posing there.
The Rotorstorm is nice as well. It is a very definitively executed piece. I'm not a fan of the MTME guidebooks visual style perse but the confidence and certainty that you execute it with is impressive. (Actually, it looked to me like Rotorstorm was evading to his left when I first looked at it for some reason).
I think Dragstrip is probably my least favourite of the three pieces I'm afraid. Not because it isn't a well executed piece, because it is. He has quite a bit of character - a "right, give us your wallet!" kind of look to him. I think it is more that I am not that bothered about Dragstrip than anything to do with the piece itself.

Don't hate me... Asking for trouble, aren't I? It has been pointed out that I never did post the MAGNIFICUS image from the IDW board comp. This here, is my first win. He's a gestalt, made up of Ultra Magnus, Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr and Springer.

That is one badass Hot Shot! And I say that as the Hub's #1 Hot Shot fan!
Drift is pretty good too, it seems like you have made him more G1-ish too, actually.
