I just had a horrible thought that my 'high five' comment would be misconstrued as some kind of 'well done' instead of a reference to Trailbreaker's pose. My patter isn't THAT bad.

I misread that as "thin, wasted, robots" and thought "Ah, that would explain a lot about Rodimus' decision-making skills"... Nice picture though - as is the extreme-perspective Drift. Not often I actually see people draw him with the "butcher knives" these days, good to see.

 Lines drawn on the Sunday at TFN, with Alex Milne looking over my shoulder at one point. Oh the shame! Whacked some colours on him because I think a Rodimus throwing the horns deserves it, really. Also, I really need to practice doing colours. |

 So, I've been getting frustrated with the art I've been doing recently. Self-doubt and an inablilty to translate anything to paper have left me feeling very... well, all over the place. Then this happened. Rough and scratchy and I just went to town on it, really... trying to work my frustrations out. Almost working the pen through the paper. Tense and so so unnatural. I wanted to hurt the image. It wasn't working, again. Such a small thing, but it was getting in my way. But then... it's nearly a thing, isn't it? Not something I'd usually put out here in the world, and I'm posting it not as a "Hey, look at this cool thing I've drawn" but more a... a way of working through the negativity. I'm not free yet, my art still isn't happening, and I don't think it will until I can begin to sort my own mental health issues out, but maybe angry little drawings like this will help me get there. |
