So that's now five additional comics after AHM - seventeen issues to tell its story.

So that's now five additional comics after AHM - seventeen issues to tell its story. Longer than Watchmen, longer that any of the Classics Illustrated adaptations I can think of. That is a lot of pages that they have taken to tell this story. Karl

That'll be the incentive from Don. Though given the fact it ties in to AHM, a nice cover is nowhere near enough incentive to make me buy it.

Very colourful.
I'm getting a "Kings of the Wild Frontier" vibe, but I'm probably wrong.

First AHM spoils the Sunstreaker storyline of Maximum Dinobots, now the CJ spotlight is going to tell us what happened in AHM before it's concluded. You really need to match up the publication dates for interconnected comics, IDW!

Hmm, somewhat manga-esque, I'm sure that'll have some of the state-side fans whining. Looks nice though, Robby's a fair artist. Dialogue from Cliffjumper seems a little clunky, but still, should be a nice enough read.
But yes on the whole AHM tie-in thing. Be interesting to see what the tie-in is, and where it should be placed wrt the rest of AHM. Spotlight Jazz was pre issue 5, same with Spotlight Daft.
Bloody hell, I wonder if Spotlight Metroplex is going to have a tie in as well? That'd make an even 20 issues, no?

IIRC Spotlight: Metroplex wasn't solicited as an AHM tie-in.

Was that a typo or is that what you really think of one of McCarthy's creations?

I was being petty. I think Drift would be an okay character if he wasn't written so fanwankishly. As it is, I think 'Daft' suits it just fine.
Cliffjumper comes out on the 17th of June over here in the States.

Had a look at this in FPG. The solicit lies: only McCarthy is credited as writer.

Yeah Denton's the editor. I don't know why they did that in the solicit, but then they've been screwing up wording in their recent solicits anyway. The one for AHM 12 still refers to CODA instead of #13-16.

I just read Cliffjumper. Lovely art and a touching story. It's got shades of the Wheelie spotlight, in that the main character is temporarily removed from the war (by virtue of being stranded on an alien world) leading to some personal reflection, only for the Decepticons to turn up and do what Decepticons do. It shows Cliffjumper in a new light in terms of his abilities (he's a kind of mini-assassin/crack commando apparently) but is capable of compassion, even if its a surprise to the Decepticons.
To correct some of the posts above this is NOT an AHM tie in, certainly not overtly anyway. It reads fine as a standalone story and wouldn't matter whether you've read any of the main titles. Sadly one of my users tells me the spotlights are due to end. He says Chris Ryall told him. Perhaps they are being incorporated into the ongoing series. I hope so.

If the Spotlights are going to end it doesn't surprise me. IDW have been getting less and less interested in them in the past two years anyway. They originally made them a monthly series but the last ten or so Spotlights have been published as and when.
