Imagine: You have managed, somehow, to get "in" with top cheese at Hasbro and they have granted you permission to use one previously used Transformers mould (right the way back to 1984!) with an entirely newly moulded head in any colour schemes you want to be used for an exclusive to your UK convention.
Which mould would you use? Which head/character/colourscheme would you give it?

Personally I'm biased but I'd naturally this year I'd love to see a Cheetor or Grimlock repaint! lol
*think maybe I should send a link to this thread to Hasbro UK...*

Depends
If I wanted my convention to make a ton of money I'd use the Universe Skyraider mold and make up a jet or two (Actionmaster Thundercracker, another of the random gumbies like Acid Storm or Sunstorm. AQUASTORM maybe in the unreleased G2 Ramjet blue colours!). Not an established char though, someone /new/.
Alternately hmm. I dont know, more Decepticon JETS or SPACESHIPS I think. But new characters who are all G1ish. I'd use a newer mold though, anything Armada onwards. Maybe I would do a Mary Sue and do a blue Cybertron Sideways with a new head as Blueshift (and a red one as Redshift, imagine that!)
Basically unless it is a repaint of someone MEGA obscure then it doesn't excite me, I'd rather have more new guys to expand the mythos

I'd demand not just a new head but a new hand or hook and get either Combat Hero Megs or G2 Megs repainted as Impactor.

Sticking with the idea of exclusives, what's the most you'd be willing to pay for a single toy in the following three circumstances:-
1. Carded 2. Boxed 3. Bagged with tech specs, bio and instructions sheet

I think the size of the toy might have some impact on the price range most folks would be willing to pay.

If we go Deluxe, I would say...
1 - Carded: I wouldn't, you can' take it off the card and then put it back to display easily, yeesh 2 - Boxed: 20-25 quid? 3 - Loose: 15-20 quid
Obviously for an Omega Spreem coloured Omega Supreme I'd pay like, a million pounds
Or a Slicer-coloured Cybertron Downshift!!

Okay, let's say prices for the options based on a deluxe sized toy.

I wouldn't bother with packaging, it's nice and all, but as Blueshift said cards arent worth it unless they are like the US G2 carded toys and a decent box probably adds to much cost. FP have always said that exclusives cost about 3-4 times retail. That seem fair for a very small run. £30 for a deluxe would be great value to my mind with the recent price increase and would convince me to make the trip to AA or whichever Con had it. £40 would still interest me and I'd still buy it unless I really hated it. Anything more would depend on the toy or if it was boxed. Personally I would pay extra for good packaging I just dont know if enough would to make it worth while.

I don't know about price, size or mould but for a specific UK convention toy it would have to pertain to be Impactor.

Hero Megatron as Impactor, yessss I guess technically Classics tank Megatron would be better because one of his hands is a gun-hook thing. But it isn't a good mold.

Andy Well for a deluxe I'd probably go as far as 30, no more. The US ones aren't that much I dont think (but then we do get gouged over here)

I'd like a Scrounge, but can't think what mould would work.
A Lord Straxus too would be nice.

Nightbeat was $50 with a fancy box and comic. Airrazor was $40 boxed I think. The bagged botcon add ons run to around $30-40. But you know if its $30 there it will be £30. Sucks!
And Impactor for me to. Would the reverse convoy version of the mould be better? Or Actionmaster Thundercracker. Or Straxus form Animated deluxe Megatron. Slicer from Cyb Downshift too though I dont know if it would look different enough from Downshift to be worth it.

Downshift mould would indeed make a good Slicer.

If Hero Megatron were used as Impactor, then Actionmaster Megatron would make a decent Emirate Xaaron companion piece.
I've long thought that Hasbro UK missed a trick by not releasing a Welsh version of Transmetal 2 Megatron; it would only need a different box. Naturally, my convention would be in Wales, so that would make an ideal exclusive. Similarly, Battle Unicorn could be used for a Scottish convention, any lion Transformer for an English convention; there could also be a "royal coat of arms" themed box set of the pair. I don't know what animal would suit an Irish Transformer.

It would be very good and I personally want it, but if you swap Downshifts green for the grey blue of Slicer your half way there. I'm just not sure the two would be distinct enough to be a major draw.
I've been hoping for it as part of a Botcon set because, as proved by Kup, you can get away with something that isn't a major draw as part of a larger set. As a stand alone Actionmaster Thundercracker is a more "dramatic" statement.

Actionmaster Thundercracker would HAVE to be in unrelenting neon though, no dusky, realistic tones!

I quite like the Impactor and Straxus ideas as I don't think that those characters were ever released as toys (somebody may correct me on this if I'm wrong).
On a similar note has TMUK created a character exclusive for their fanzines and if so that may make an interesting idea for a UK convention exclusive toy.

Straxus would need to be pretty large though, not the Animated Megatron deluxe (so he can fight Universe Blaster!)

Think if we were ever able to manage to pull anything off it would only be a straightforward repaint with no retooling as that would add a massive amount to the cost with the sort of quantity we'd be looking at.
Saying that, some repaints look nice...!

hmm... this is a hard question, as there are so many cool characters out there but... Animated Samurai Prowl (with armor) repainted as Bludgeon. That ought to be interesting The head re-mould would be pretty straight forward too. Just whipe that arrogant/calm smirk off his face and put in some perly white teeth and black hollow "eyes" Pete

I'd like a Scrounge, but can't think what mould would work. One of the original Pretenders inner robots could work to look like Scrounge's robot mode. Maybe then a wheel-shaped Pretender Shell for him to squeeze into? Or would making Scrounge a Pretender send him into naff overload?

Impactor, Xxaron, Straxus and Scrounge were all my first thoughts like many of you. I'd also like to see Rack 'n' Ruin done in some way to round out the Wreckers, but have no idea what mould to use. Double-Header, maybe?
The other is a repaint of Cybertron Menasor as Omega Supreme or indeed Omega Spreem. Someone did this as a custom a while back and it worked really well IMO.
