Poor Karl was walking down the road towards his workplace when I suddenly leapt out in front of him, shouted: "LASER SCREWDRIVER!" and shot him. What a surprised look on his face he had. Ah ha ha. Nowhere is safe...

Nowhere is safe... -Ralph I was light on calories and looking forward to my somewhat delayed lunch, and then this individual materialises in front of me and zaps me with a laser screwdriver. Not quite what I am used to happening on my lunch-hours! It certain got me back on my toes though - there was no "post-lunch half-daze" today, I was considering where the next ambush might come from. I'm going to have to think about carrying a sidearm of some sort, or maybe hoisting some AWACS cover or something..... Karl

I goes out at lunch time today and I am trying to sharpen my situational awareness and remember what I've learned from reading Appleseed and playing Counterstrike. "When you look up, look down. When you look left, look right. Look everywhere!"

GaHHHHH! *leaps out of skin*
Maybe I can use my new second-hand VHS recorder as a sheild....
(My long-serving Video-recorder finally gave up the ghost this weekend - it still works as such, it is just that the sockets have finally worn out. It has done sterling service though - I have had it twelve years which I view as pretty good going. Fortunately I have a British Heart Foundation shop down the road which has duly furnished me with one for five earth pounds. Now all I need to do is cart it home and re-sort out the rats-nest of cabling behind the TV.....)

I shot Karl via text today while standing near his office. There is no avenue from which he cannot be attacked...

So this is why Karl won't watch Gurren Lagann. An entire multi-episode series where the hero shouts "LASER SCREWDRIVER!" would cause post-traumatic relapse...er..trauma. Pete

Poor Karl was walking down the road. He thought he was safe. He did expect a surprise attack from me, as I jumped out from hiding behind a small tree and shot him with the laser screwdriver.

Poor Karl was walking down the road. He thought he was safe. Two minutes past five, you figure that most folks are on their way to their transport home from the office, not on their way back to the office to get stuck into more work. It was a run-by-laser screwdriving. Ralph leapt from behind cover, firing off a loosely aimed burst of laser-screwdriver fire and hightailed it away in the direction of the train station. In due time I shall be revenged for this Burns....... Karl

I feel somewhat cheated. Despite being out and about this lunchtime I have as yet had no opportunity for sonic revenge on Ralph. The week is not yet over however, there may still be a window of opportunity....

Come on, Karlos! Laser always beats sonic, man! Nah, lasers only beat sonics in a vacumn.... and if you are in a vacumn then you are probably in deep space so you are probably fighting so far away that the inevitable spreading of the beam means a laser would need absurdly long dwell-times to do much damage..... Better just to bring a scad-load of missiles you can fire at the enemy from afar. Even if laser beats sonic, Itano Cirus beats everything...... :-) Karl
