Henkei Jetfire.
Chromed exhaust pipes. And damn all articulation.
And that's it?
Bugger off!!

Armada, all of them. Loved the designs, kept buying them expecting to eventually find one with articulation of a standard with BW through RID. I eventually got Supercon Prime, Starscream came close, but that was it.
Im a fan of the Jetfire mould, though think it's a bit of a poor Jetfire.

The Entire Transformers the Movie 2007 line. Utter cack. They were of a standard of execution LOWER than Transformers Cybertron. The colors were pale and bland. The details were haphazard and most often simply missing. There was little to no effort made to make them look like the characters on screen.
For toy representations of arguable the most important event in Transformers history - the super successful live action movie - these were utter trash.
Second place: Armada - the first of many steps DOWN.
After Beast Wars and RID/CR, one thought "well, now we've gotten ever advancing articulation - what's next? Answer: cheap crappy designs with little to no articulation.
Energon/Super Link was somewhat more uplifting, as was Cybertron, in terms of basically sticking with the (IMO ugly aesthetic of Armada) but at least giving us poseable figures - and there were some gems in each line. Besides, the homages (pre-Classics) were nice.
Thankfully, Henkei and Animated came out with great stuff - so I know they can still do goo work over there at HasTak...
Sadly, T2 seems to be offering up horrible toys...

Universe Galvatron, G1 Rodimus Prime, Armada Sideswipe being the first 3 that come to mind.

Masterpiece Megatron was a disappointment, considering the expense. I got so frustrated with it, it's been in a slowly rusting tangle ever since.

Yeah, although in many ways I love my MP Megs, I found him disapointing next to Optimus, and many Alts/BTs. Love his face though.
Classics Uni Ironhide is my biggest disapointment recently. Urrrsh. Not happy at all. Poor, clumsy, not very G1 robot mode (compared to other Classics). And terrible van mode.

Thanks for pointing me to your review. Have I mentioned that I really like your website's overall design and banner? Anyways; the review is fun and also somewhat funny, and I'll admit that it did get me thinking "gee - I wish I had all the Armada toys" But then another thought entered my head: "For 4 dollars." Because I just can't justify them being worth very much more. I think what turned me off to them most wasn't even so much their lack of articulation but also the aesthetic/sculpt of the robots themselves. I dunno... I guess I don't want to be too down on the line. It's just not thrilling. Unicron is a must have which I don't have though Of course Pete

There hasn't really been a new TF line since Armada that had me all "YEAAAAAH GOD YEAH!" when picking up the figures. Classics doesn't really count because it is new toys but based on old stuff.
Until Animated came along, of course.

Now see, I like Animated too - even though it is a "kiddy" line - I even like it better than the "realistic" movie line. Why? Because for all it's "realism" the movie line cuts more corners than I care to accept. Bland colors don't help. Animated is vibrant and alive and fun - AND the articulation is great. Armada I could have enjoyed more if it had definitively moved towards being Kiddified. As it stands, the designs seemed to be a self contained quarrel between the demands of "realistic" and "robotic" edgy modes and "demands of a kids line." Result was therefore some what of a mess of ideas that only went half way. As for Universe Galvatron/Henkei Galvatron: NOT INTERESTED (because I don't like the design) Pete

I didn't like the Japanese God Ginrai version of Powermaster Optimus Prime, much prefer the basic US one.

That's interesting to hear. I thought it was far better - I mean, the transformable fists for one thing... Edit: I'm surprised no one has complained about Star Convoy yet. The most heralded reissue since they decided to bring back G1 Prime really...and then he turns into an immediate shelf warmer when people actually relize they are expected to pay money for him The toy is only reasonable if you are into Micromasters and have a collection of bases Pete

I am "into" Micromasters and have a collection of bases.
I do quite like Star Convoy. I like the motorised launcher and the MicroTrailer interaction. One day I hope to get the likes of Grandus* and Sky Garry* to complete my "Microplex" city. It'll be like having a model railway in the attic.
*You never know, they may get reissued yet.

Oh yes. Universe Galv was a huge disappointment. He is just so ridiculously fragile! I got Universe Galvatron for Christmas last year. I think the robot mode looks good as does the tank mode but transforming him from one mode to another without bits falling off is near to impossible. I transformed him into robot mode on Xmas day then transformed him back a couple of days later and left him as that. It took me bloody ages to get one of his arms to stay affixed to the rest of his body. On another note I ddn't think much of the Energon line. I got Energon Inferno for Xmas about four years ago and I'm disappointed with it. He transforms into a fire engine that doesn't look like a fire engine and his head sticking out of the cab in vehicle mode doesn't help either. In robot mode his back is non-exsistant and if he was really like that in the heat of battle he would stand no chance of survival.

Animated Starscream. He looks great in both modes, but he just doesn't have enough transformation for a toy of that size.
I'll join the Galvatron league. I've never known a toy to fall apart so much. It really lets down a decent-looking toy. And the shoulder clip doesn't fit in its slot.
Back in the day: Firecons. I rarely transformed them because their robot modes looked so poor. The monster modes were great, though, especially with the spark mechanism.

Here's a general dissapointment:
ALL of the Transformers jet/airplane toys ever since 1987.
The original six seekers were fine insofar as the jet modes were fairly sleek and did not suffer from undercarriage and kibble. They were fairly realistic; just like the counter-part Autobot cars.
Then, starting with Headmasters/Targetmasters we started to get jets that were terrible.
Even with the advance of articulation and other features being improved - to this day Transformers jets which are supposed to mimmic or actually BE real-world aircraft are horrible.
This goes all the way up to recent examples like Movie 07 Starscream, Henkei Octane, TFA Starscream...
Takara and Hasbro have not been able to produce a nice sleek aerodynamic jet form since the original seekers (barring MP of course)

I didn't like how, a few years back, they reissued Galvatron but repainted him to look like the cartoon. Just reissue the original toy, thanks.
