FINALLY!!! The last five minutes of episode 4 and it starts to get moving! That was a good sequence.

Last episode of '...and The Pit' watched. Best of the 6 I thought though overall it's just not a good serial. Good production values for the time and the way it was made and some of the acting was fine. The problem is with the scripting. Kneale just was not a good writer.
A big weakness is that Quatermass himself is not required for the story. Events would have proceeded the same way without him. He isn't even needed to save the day! His pal does it instead! Hammer wisely tweaked his role for the film version.
I am glad it was on Iplayer though as it has been on my list of 'famous telly to watch some day'. I hope the BBC puts more of its archive content up there.
