Today is a momentous day for fans of action movies, and fans of ageing film-stars in general. Rambo is released today!
I'm sure a lot of people will raise an eyebrow and a wry smirk will creep across their faces at the thought of Stallone donning the bandana one final time, but i cannot wait.
After work some friends and i will be watching Rambo 1-3 and then making our trip to the cinema for the late showing of the latest film.
Anyone else going to see this? Throat-ripping is guaranteed !

I borrowed all three from my uncle one week several years ago and watched them in one sitting while building something complex out of Lego. I remember the first one being good, the third one being fairly exciting and can't remember a damn thing about the second one at all.

Can't stand Rambo myself but my brother loves it and has all three original movies in a DVD boxset. No doubt he'll be getting this latest one when it comes out of DVD.
I've never been too overwhelmed by sequels of old films made recently. I'm a big fan of 80's films and some of those films had a particular atmosphere around them them that just screamed out the word 'eighties'. When a sequel to an 80's film is released recently it usually turns out to be rubbish in my opinion because they're trying to recreate the magic of the originals but with a modern day kind of storytelling which doesn't work for me at all. Times change and the good old days of movie making is long gone that's why I watch very few modern day movies.

Agreed.
First Blood has some depth and substance. The rest...not so much.
