Interestingly, one of the essays I'm doing is about Brain Trauma! Ironic, somehow... I convinced I have dyslexia or something I had to read that sentence 5 times. The first two I read Britian Trauma, the next two Brian Trauma before finally getting it right the fifth time. I had to go out for spray paint today. Got a lift to my brother work, got there at 8.40 and I got back at 12.30, soaked though not as bad as I could have been. I was on my feet the entire time and it rained the entire time. Had to go to two Boyes to get the paint, but the second one was the other side of the city. On the plus side I got the Takara trilogy DVD set from the first one for £15.00. Am I right to believe that Masterforce and Victory do not have the Star dubs? Im sure thats why I never bought it before but with Ralph telling me that the madman one dont have a complete dub either I figured for the price this was ok. Spoke to my now boss at Asda about work in the summer. Hopefully I'll get something before then but if not it would be nice to have a fall back. Andy So tired now.

Got a selection test (basic literacy and numeracy) for local DWP call centre next Tuesday. It's a temp job and low pay and I have no ambition to spend much time in that type of work, but it would bring some money in while I continue to look for something permanent/liveable pay.

Wednesday next week the supervisor of the department I worked for a few years ago at my workplace is retiring. Chances are I'll be drafted back onto the team if the team isn't discontinued when he retires. Although I spent the best part of a year trying to get off the team back then maybe it wouldn't be so bad when he retires because the two people who drove me off the team will be no longer working there and it should be a changed atmosphere. When everything is sorted regarding this event I will set about booking my hotel for Auto Assembly assuming there are still any rooms left as I still don't know if I'll be able to get up to Birmingham on the Friday or the Saturday before the convention. If I can sort things out at work it will be the Friday otherwise it will be Saturday.

Whether I get this temp job (and if can get weekend of AA off) determines whether I'll make it to AA.

5k race tonight in the wind and pissing rain. Poor show, ate food too near race and had a bastard stitch for most of it. Argh, annoyed with myself.

Had a great time last night attending the end-of-year art/media show at the Bristol Paintworks where my film Fitting IN amongst others was screened. Ended it off having a great night on the town with my classmates (something I usually don't get to do).

Oh sweet beloved life giving internet, do not leave me or forsake me again. On Tuesday night it pissed it down in Swindon. Wednesday morning I woke up to find no Internet. So I phoned and complained. Two days of reseting equipment with no joy later and it comes on by itself. Do we think water got into a cable somewhere ? It had gone again by Sat morning. Engineer says it's OK at the junction box and shagged at the splitter box down the road

Now, this has been a pretty good way to end a week really. Had a nice lie-in this morning, doing a bit of reading. Then, seeing as it was a bright, warm day I headed out for my Sunday stroll. I checked on the swans who are nesting along the canal bank. They do indeed have young now - seven chicks that look more like animated balls of fluff than birds at this stage. Both the chicks and their parents seem very unselfconcious. They pay no heed to passing humans, dogs or bicycles on the canal tow-path just five meters across the water from them. Instead the mother just carries on preening herself and settles back down on the nest. They are not the only ones with a fair-sized clutch of young either. A bit further along the canal I bumped into a duck who was cruising sedately along with a small flotilla of six ducklings.
That is the one good thing about living where I do. Although Falkirk itself is depressingly urbam, I don't have to go too far to find some countryside and wildlife.

Size 11/12 (depending on make) here. It's always bother, but especially when looking for plain smart black shoes. I don't like the pair I got, but the only other ones my size were £50!
