Say what you like about Armada Hotshot but Jolt is a top Minicon. How's his Universe successor ?
A very similar vehicle mode - complete with downturned tail fin is topped off by a black rotor blade on top. The Minicon socket is still under the helicopter's nose allowing it to be mounted on a TF's arm as a spinning blade weapon. Due to the way the toy transforms it can no longer be bent over the back of either Hotshot to form a rotor propulsion system for the car but the entire Helicopter can plug into the back of the new Universe Hotshot.
The transformation is where things start to differ: Armada Hotshot's legs are formed from the cab, Universe Hotshot's fold down from under the body behind the helicopter. The cab then folds down to form the back and the arms unpeg from the side of the cab.
Robot mode gains bending elbows and looses the bending knees. Unfortunately a host of other problems are introduced - the feet aren't that big and the body is weighted down by the body of the Helicopter forming a backpack. So standing Jolt up is nigh on impossible ! Then there's the tail, now positioned to the front of the robot between the legs. Oh dear. The helicopter blades can still be raised up in this mode to form a helipack above the head but it brings the rest of the back with it.
So - OK Helicopter mode but poor robot which is worse than the original. Stick with what you know.

Oh dear. Sounds like the new Hotshot/Jolt combo just makes the originals looks good!

I remember Jolt was such a popular toy, more so than Hotshot on the day after Transforce 2002.

It is a shame that the new Jolt sounds rather sub-par. The original was one of the best of the pack-in minicons, and indeed was a toy I hung onto far longer than I did Hot Shot.
