I notice there isn't a ROTF comic thread. I haven't bought any comics, though I'm planning to buy the collected editions in the next few weeks now that they're available. For anyone interested in the artwork and don't object to minor spoilers, there are some nice scans of the ROTF cover artwork at joshnizzi.com.

If you mean the adaptation, I've got #1 and it's quite fun, pacey stuff. It's also clearly had Furman go through the script with a meat cleaver. The novel adaptation's online preview showed an ominous, suspenseful hunt for Demolishor in Shanghai, slowly showing the new Autobots...
The comic opens with Demolishor hitting things on page 2 while everyone scatters.
I love you, comic!

Yep, I was also thinking of the Alliance and Defiance prequels that were published last week.
On the topic of the adaptation, I'm surprised that the adaptation paperback was published prior to the completion of the weekly comic and a month prior to the movie. I would have thought IDW would want to maximise the sales of the adaptation comic, then release the paperback edition in the same week or week prior to the movie.

Yes, that is a strange move.
I'll wait and see what Titan prints.

The noble Steve Bax plonked #2 and #3 of the adaptation through my letterbox. #2 is pacey and fun, #3... well, it sort of falls apart. It's trying to get too much in AND seem decompressed, it seems.
I've also noticed, to my surprise, the new Autobots barely do anything and neither do most of the new Decepticons. It's all human, all the time. Just think, this is what the film's going to be like too...

I've read Alliance and I think it's OK and have read the first two issues of Defiance which I think is much better than Alliance. Will pick up the adaptation issues at the weekend.
