Yup. Coming from my head as I tear my hair out with boredom.
Utter, utter shite. Yes, Daniel Day Lewis turns in a completely convincing performance, and it's obvious why he got the Best Actor award, but the movie was a boring pile of shite.

What is it about Daniel Day Lewis giving great performances in films that are as dull as hell (Gangs of New York)?

I didn't like The Shawshank Redemption at all.

You're honestly the first person I've heard say that Elliott.
Gangs wasn't too bad I thought Andy. I loved Day Lewis's accent, early American, it was brilliant.

Have to disagree most strongly with you all. There Will Be Blood is amazing... It's hard going, I'm not going to dispute that, but I came out feeling like I'd been through something utterly unique. There's not a frame in that film that's anything less than spectacular, the performances are remarkable, the score is like no other I have ever heard, and as a story of the dissollution of one man's humanity I found it utterly compelling. It's a completely immersive experience. The only other film I can think of that has so completely transported me to another world is Blade Runner. It's THAT good. Mx

I didn't like The Shawshank Redemption at all. Elliott. I didn't like it either. Despite the presence of Morgan Freeman, I thought it was interminable pretentious bollocks. -Ralph
