Thank goodness. I was tired of lending my name to this horrible TV show.
I saw the KARR episode last night and was disappointed that he was introduced and killed so quickly. It's strange that they built up the KARR angle and destroyed him so quickly. I wonder if the expense of hiring Peter Cullen (who must cost much more since the TF movie) and the threat of cancellation resulted in the effects budget being scaled back.
The destruction of KARR seemed conclusive when watching the episode, but he could have easily been resurrected. However, I can't understand how the turncoat managed to survive intact - he was absorbed into KARR's chest and should have been torn apart when KITT destroyed the robot.

One thing I don't like about new Knight Rider is a change that was made between the pilot and series. In the pilot, KITT was able to change appearance using camouflage technology. In the series, this was changed to an all-out transformation. I don't like the revised idea because it's not very believable (KITT's apparent mass is too inconsistent between vehicles, especially when he becomes a pickup) and also the transformation itself is too derivative of the Transformers film. (Plus, it's a bit namby-pamby. The original KITT was well 'ard without having to change into a different car.) What do they do to top this derivativeness? (Is derivativeness a word?) They have Peter Cullen play a car that transforms into a robot.  And all that talk about destiny and becoming one is pure Optimus Bay. As for the KITT-KARR confrontation, they spent the whole episode building KARR up then, when it was increasingly looking like it was going to be (and should have been) a cliffhanger ending, just minutes after revealing KARR he's dispatched in what must be a contender for the quickest showdown in TV history. And he wasn't even hard to take down. Superweapon? All it would take for the enemy to defeat him is have, ooh, I don't know, a couple of guns. Ho-hum. |

I am shocked out of my mind. In the current episode streaming on Twitch, KITT has just told Michael that Turbo Boost is NOT an option for escaping a situation!!!

Garth Knight's girlfriend has come back from the dead as a different character who strangely has exactly the same ongoing plot and is trying to seduce one of the Felix Leitners and turn him to the dark side!!!
Michael has been dropped on his dead and does not seem to know her! Continuity!!!

Yup.
S4 felt very tired and it was for the best it ended there. S1-3 still a great fun action/adventure show though!

Just started watching s4 again. KITT with pop-out parts and flaps was not cool.
First 3 seasons are definitley the best.

Though the worst version of KR was the Knight Rider 2100 tv movie: the one set in the post apocalyptic future.
