I enjoyed it too.
I wonder if the Street Hawk or Airwolf will get the same treatment.

More than likely. There seems to be a sudden interest in 70's and 80's TV at the moment and Britain is leading the way with shows like Life on Mars and Ashes to Ashes showing us that those decades wern't as bad as what peole make them out to be.

Knight Rider without the Hoff? Mrs Shockprowl will not be pleased. She worships those tight pants of his. I'd always love the way he'd do 'unnecissary grunts' when speaking. You watch the original series closely, you'll see.

I have yet to see the new Knight Rider but if the day is not saved via a turbo boost from KITT, I shall shake my fist with rage. One of the lessons I learned from the original show is that there are no problems in life that cannot be solved by a turbo boost.

Is this the kind of turbo-boost you speak of?

I watched the 2008 Knight Rider pilot movie the other day. Utterly joyless. Far, far too serious in tone. Lifeless leads and Val Kilmer (a decent actor) sounded bored out of his mind as KITT. Very disappointing.
Knight Rider's formula is very simple: affable bloke rolls into town and Does Good + sarcastic super car + turbo boots = unpretentious fun/tosh. That's all it needs!
Perhaps the new series will be better. It has a new showrunner, who rather amusingly has taken several pot-shots at the pilot in interviews!

That's all it needs! + coolest music of all time + red side-to-side light thingy + car that reverses backwards from trailer of forward-moving lorry and somehow doesn't ruin tyres + well-spoken, gently patronising, kindly boss dude Martin

I've been watching this as well although I haven't got around to watching ep 6 just yet. The quality from episode to episode seems up and down but that was true of the original series too. Overall I'm enjoying it - or maybe it's just that I fancy the lead actress

The latest news is that they're retooling the series - they're abandoning the terrorist threat in favour of the help the helpless theme of the original. They've also got rid of a few of the core cast.

Sounds like a good plan to me.
I'm getting the 6 episodes now (including the pilot which I've already seen). Hopefully it will all be complete tommorrow. I can't wait to catch up with what I missed.

I've watched all 8 so far. Seeing the brief KARR appearance (or his blueprints rather) in episode 6 was quite a shocker as his design was'nt what I expected.
Mike and Sarah just need to run off somewhere and get a room already...

That they do. However I fear it'll become a will they/wont they thing dragged out for the entirety of the show's life with increasingly stupid reasons for nothing happening between them which will just harm the show by cutting in to cool car time. Also it will lead to a rise of scummy "shipper" types to annoy everyone else. I hate shippers KARR's new design did look interesting. I eagerly await his return - even if he does scare me However the return (a few episodes away I guess) will be a while off yet. I went to get the latest episode this morning and found nothing. Some research then revealed that episode 9 will not air until New Year's Eve!

Ta for the heads up bud. Seems like all the TV shows are taking a Christmas hiatus at the moment.

Well this new year (with it's new title sequence) seems to be the start of the reformatting of the show. I guess the two-parter we've had this week and last has gone as big on the terroisty type stuff as it's going to and the cast list has now been reduced by two . Looks like the reformatting will be complete after next week's episode and (as noted above) it has KARR so... bonus! Will be interesting to see how the new direction works, though after next week there's only five episodes left.

Casual viewers may like to know that episode 12 (aka the one with KARR in it) is availible now.

Nice episode to help kickoff the newer era. Not sure how Zoe will be written out just yet, but so far Smith Cho has been credited as a special guest star. The amount of times Dr Graiman appeared in Jedi-Hologram form he might has well not been killed off

Good to see KARR as a car and was this the first use of ski mode in the new series? Made me cheer anyway. The xbox bit was a waste of screentime but this was a fairly enjoyable episode. However this really should have been a two-parter. With everything going on the end of the episode was approaching and still no KARR. I figured the end would see KARR reactivated and then "to be continued". Instead he was activated then quickly disposed of. I'm sure he will be back but it seems like a bit of a missed opportunity.

I agree, the X-Box thing was nothing more than cheesy product placement and a space filler for the episode. If past conflicts are anything to go by, KARR did'nt get any proper closure

^I would guess the original plan was to slowly reveal bits and pieces but with the new direction they've decided to quickly tidy it up so as to start with a clean slate.

I wonder how Zoe will be written out. It looks like she has been saved for last. I also wonder if any of KARR survived. His original namesake left an open door for a return from the time he was defeated by a turbo boost collision.

I remember the first episode he appeared in the original series where he swerved from a head-on collision, turned into a Chevy and fell off a cliff. He was later found buried in the sand in perfect condition by a guy in a crop top.
The early 80s were a strange time for television.

Not sure how Zoe will be written out just yet, but so far Smith Cho has been credited as a special guest star. She was listed during the main titles this week, so it would seem she's staying put.

There was a new Knight Rider?

There was. A TV movie was done last year and a season of episodes followed. I haven't seen any of the series: I found the pilot movie so dour and lacking in life I lost interest.

Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
I suspected as much though when they re-ordered the last few episodes so as it had an upbeat endeding. It's weird, after the pilot I didn't particulary find myself in need of a new Knight Rider but the series was really enjoyable at times.
Damn.
