Didn't like the doctor who was more happy ticking boxes than listening to Liz's concerns. he took 2 phone calls during the assesment, one of which was a personal call, terribly unprofessional.
The tests said Jonathan had a moderate level of global developmental delay, with moderate to severe language delay. So nothing we didn't know, but it gets access to some more useful people.

I hate it when people who are supposed to be helping you spend most of their time with you doing things totally unconnected with what they're supposed to be doing. It's just a complete waste of your time.

I went to the GPs last year for the the first time in ages. My doctor took a personal call and then told me to stand outside his room while he took it!

My second worse nightmare has come to pass.
Oh, and I hope you make a full recovery soon Karla. And remember, if there's anything you need, anything at all, then probably best to call on a fully trained health care professional.

Not impressed with your GP there Phil. It is not proffessional to be taking calls when you are with a patient - and certainly not personal calls.
If I did that when I was with a client I would get a serious talking to. But at least it sound like the formal diagnosis opens up some further options by the sound of things so hopefully something good will come out of it.

Yeah, I would probably get a formal warning if I tried that kind of stunt, unless it was an emergency personal call or urgent personal business where I previously flagged up that I might have to take a call at short notice.

Our Welsh tutor in work interrupts lessons with half a dozen students to take calls on his mobile, but it's quite amusing because you never know what language he'll take it in - French, English, Welsh, Russian... Sometimes it's his wife, sometimes it's someone important enough to get private tuition, like the head of a Government department or quango. He's a great teacher and a nice guy though so we don't begrudge it.
But under any other circumstances like those described above it would irritate me no end.

Just to add my tuppence worth your GP sounds like a bit of an ass, and if you have to visit him again and he tries it, I would take him to task.

I went to the GPs last year for the the first time in ages. My doctor took a personal call and then told me to stand outside his room while he took it! That is disgracefull! What the hell does he think he's doing?! Unprofessional idiots like him give health care professionals a bad name. Complain, it's the only way things will change. And demand to see a different GP. Tell me they've reffered you to a specialist?

I had a bit of a run-in with one of my workmates today. I just went to have a look what time it was from a clock on the wall in the next room and he first grassed me up to my supervisor before calling me 'useless' and claiming that 'the work is getting slower and slower everyday'. I totally flipped and grabbed him by the collar (the first time I had done so since I was at school) and almost hit him until my supervisor split us up. Fortunately, I'm assured that the gaffers won't hear anything of it so hopefully nothing else will come of it.
