I didn't realise it was him! Good lad.
I love Total Wipeout. When I first saw it I thought 'Just another lowest common denominator saturday night crapfest' then promptly pissed myself laughing when someone got a boxing glove to the face. Brilliant.

Oddly, Saturday's was the only one that I've seen in its entirety and I knew someone in it! I normally only catch bits of it.

I've never seen that show before but now that I have I may consider watching further episodes of it. It's certainly better than Sky's rehash of Gladiators which, while I'm on that subject I noticed that one of the producers of Total Wipeout is Andrew Norgate who was the official timekeeper from ITV's original Gladiators series.

That's 2 people I know who have been on that show and won now.
Fair play to Jon and how he used the prize-money.

Only just seen this topic. Thanks for the comments. Yeah mum and Dad are pleased as it's 1 less thing to worry about (re, flying to OZ). Well spotted with Andy Norgate. What was funny was as he was giving Benny, Rob and myself the briefing for the Wipeout Zone he accidently called it the Eliminator then said 'hang on, I just said eliminator.... it's like im back on Gladiators again!'
It's funny as I almost made it onto Glads last year. Passed all the fitness tests but never made it to final casting. Am glad they never put me on now (even though I tried for every single series since 1997) as I would never had gone for Wipeout otherwise which is way more fun!
They are doing auditions next month for series 3 with filming in Oct. I'd recomend anyone to have a go. It's so much fun and doesn't hurt at all when you fall off things!!
The Champions show (which i had to fly back for just 5 days after getting back from winning my show) is on Sat August 29th at 6:35pm BBC1.

Somehow I don't think I'll be fit enough to appear on an episode of the show. I suppose it is fun but a bloke with a beer belly isn't exactly the embodiment of a contestant on a physical challenge show.

Hey Jon. Did you square off against Ricky Hype in the champions show? ===KEN Ha ha, you know Ricky? We were chatting on the phone today about the champs show as some of the clips show him in it. Yeah he's great. We got on really well.

Thanks Cullen! I was useless in the qualifier. They didn't show me on sucker punch but i wasted so much time on there..... I was already covered in mud yet for some stupid reason i was still trying to make my way across the wall, when i should have just thrown myself in the mud and climbed out. I got knocked off 1/2 way on the wall anyway..... would have been about 20sec quicker had i not been a muppet on the sucker punch.
The Sweeper was really really good fun! Before that pile up started the bar was doing a full 360 every 5 sec so your timing had to be absoutely spot on given the bar was also at max height (110-120cm). Once the pile up started to happen (was like seeing a train wreck heading toward you) the bar was rocking around loads and kept changing speeds so trying to time my jump was near impossible...... when Gary in front of me was jumping I had to abort my inital jump and as soon as i was ready to re-jump the bar was right in front of me so just got knocked off....... ah well!
