I just got #1 of this!
Bumblebee becoming aimless and starting to cause problems for Sam is a good idea for a story, the problem is that story vanishes when Barricade turns up.

I've read issues 1 and 2 so far... they're not very entertaining.

They have a bit of a "pointless" air, don't they? The first half of #1 is fun, but then it disappears when Barricade turns up, and they COULD redeem that if the point of bringing Barricade is was to do him in, thereby explaining why he wasn't in ROTF, but they let him live! And then #2 does some admittedly nice character work with Sideswipe, except they set him off on a character-arc that we already KNOW will not and cannot ever be fulfilled, because Prime gets to kill the object of his anger!

I don't get the comics till they come out on TPB format (saves space that way) but from what I've heard, this might be a skim read

I had a quick look at the issues in FP, but they didn't look like my kind of thing so I didn't buy them. Thought I'd see what the reviews were like. I may be tempted by the one about Fallen Dave when it comes out though, especially if Furman is in fine Cosmic Bollocks mode.

#2's okay and fleshes out Sideswipe - well, thestory is okay. The art is murky and doesn't do the Transformers & their battles any favours.
I do love the little character bit that Optimus was prepared to detain or kill a rogue 'bot.

Jetfire story's okay, but the colouring lets it down - what should be an exciting battle turns into a bunch of grey blobs.
It's also quite fun to see how the comic clashes with the film because they're using an early script. (Well, fun for me, probably not for poor Chris Mowry!)

I'll have to pick that up some time. It can't be any worse than some of the TF issues that have been churned out recently.

Didn't like the colouring at end of #2 - looks more 80's Marvel with all the dots.

I've just 'read' issue 5 of this and I couldn't believe what I had picked up. Despite being written by Simon Furman this issue was nothing more than a picture book. Most of the pages were dialogue-free and as such it only took me about one minute to read it from cover to cover.

The Jetfire issue could fit in with being reprinted in Titan comic.
Saw somewhere online about the Ravage issue being a bit like the Marvel 'Nuff said issues. I'm used to reading a comic that only takes a minute to read - i've read Ultimate Spiderman or anything written by the padmaster.

I've just 'read' issue 5 of this and I couldn't believe what I had picked up. Despite being written by Simon Furman this issue was nothing more than a picture book. Most of the pages were dialogue-free and as such it only took me about one minute to read it from cover to cover. I was planning to post a warning to everyone about the comic. It's shockingly poor value for money. In its favour, I thought it established the voice of Ravage reasonably well. This is not the Ravage of Marvel UK, who frequently operated as an independent agent. ROTF Ravage experiences his world through sensory perception and is dependent upon others to define his purpose. However, the decompressed storytelling and lack of speech bubbles make it a quick read. The story could easily have been done in 11 pages, similar to AHM's Code series. A few months ago I would have described myself as a comic completist. I've picked up a a copy of every TF comic since Dreamwave launched Armada US (excluding convention-only comics, but including reprints). However the increasing cost, number of titles and lack of focus of many issues have forced me to re-consider my approach. I dropped the reprint line entirely and waited until the ROTF stories appeared in trade paperback. I wish I had adopted the same strategy for TOTF. The design is impressive (a huge improvement over the earlier movie comics), but the story has rarely developed beyond the 'A happens, B happens, then C happens' approach with little insight into the reason. The only story that gave any fresh insight into the character was the Jetfire issue a month or two ago. Fortunately, the wave of bad reviews had penetrated my Christmas fortress and I was prepared to browse it before purchase. I opened the comic, read every word (excluding the copyright info, letters page and adverts, natch) and carefully put it back on the shelf. One minutes and forty seconds had elapsed. I asked my local deity for a sign to tell me if I should buy the comic. Snow began to fall in central London, which I took as evidence that the almighty had dislodged dandruff when shaking its head and walked out of the shop.

The Arcee issue seems almost absurdly focused on giving a serious origin not only to Arcee's three bodies, but to Skids and Mudflap. Which is just silly.
