Well, the cheque was paid in today so I guess now's as good a time as any to make the announcement. Simon Plumbe got in touch recently and reported that the charity auction and raffle at AA 2009 raised an excellent £285.10 plus an estimated £100 still to come from auction payments. Over the weekend Toy-fu generated an... unanticipated £1,309.06 including £20 that a very generous parent gave use as a donation after Blueshift handed out his remaining Deployers and Animprohs to her kids at the end of the Sunday, and £20 that one of the cosplay girls handed me as she was leaving. I have some stock left over, some of which might not be seen again till next year but significantly my Omega Sentinel and one of my TFCC Piranacon giftsets remain and are going on eBay at the end of this week. Whatever I make from them will be added to the current running total of... £1694.19.
THANK YOU
to everyone who came to the stall, bid on the auctions and most of all to the following sound blokes who helped out:
Ralph Burns, head playtester, donor, box-humpher and salesman
Andy Kiernan, provider of fine custom Star Saber blades, box-humpher, salesman and saviour of Bruticus #2 with his craft knife skills
Karl Thurgood, box humpher, donor and salesman
Blueshift, box humpher, donor and salesman
Andy Turnbull, box humpher, artist and salesman
Tony Baker, donor, setter-upper and salesman
Gareth Baker, donor of a valuable Botcon Sweep
Jaymz, gracious provider of much-needed accessories
Nick Roche, mike-rocking advertiser and provider of sketch prizes along with several of his IDW mates
Anyone I've forgotten to mention!
EDIT: Such as The Hub's own Gav Spence, creator of Toy-fu's fantastic Grandus banner and various other pieces of fab artwork!
I'd also like to thank many of the above chaps again for spending so much of their hard-earned dough at the stall, with honourable mention going to John Cullen who risked the wrath of Mrs Cullen by coming home with a boxed Countdown and a Victory Saber
I'll see you guys in 49 weeks if not sooner! Expect an update with the final total once the auctions have run!
-Nick
