Pretty self explanatory poll question My personal feeling is that Transformers scale model kits that don't have robot modes and are just realistic vehicles with some Transformers decals, paint aps and what not won't really work... but just curious what you guys think? Pete

I don't have the patience for building models I'm afraid. I don't have the patience for most things, actually.
Once, I did get an Airfix F-15 with the intention of painting it up like Starscream. After super gluing the instructions to the newspaper on the table, I gave up.

My attempts at Airfix always ended up as bubbling messes of glue and plastic. So no

My building models days are well behind me. They just made me so angry and far from relaxed so I decided that was one hobby to drop!

If it didn't transform, then I wouldn't rush to buy it.
However, if it was like the old Revell Robochanger (Robotech/Macross Valkyrie) kits, which actually did transform, then I'd be more interested. I actually did have a couple of these, one of which was the "Jetfire" version, so I painted him up appropriately. (The other one was the red one, which has a different head.) I intended making a diorama with it, which was planned as the US military attacking Jetfire in a residential neighbourhood. I never got further than buying a couple of tank kits, but they're still here and it will be done at some future point.

Just in terms of clarity, are we talking a non-transformable, fighter mode only, kit here? (Basically just a 1/48th scale F-22 with some different decals?).
If so I can safely say that I have nowhere to put an F-22 in such a large scale. It is a bit of a moose of an aircraft in terms of size after all. (And the idea of it as a Fallen Dave Starscream is something else that would put me off actually. I'd be less interested in that than I would be in a regula Raptor kit).

Why not just get an F-22 Raptor kit and paint it in Screamer colours/tattoos

Yes.
Not exactly sure whether the "Cybertron markings" would be decals or whether there would be some other scheme for "applying" them - but in general yes.
That's generally what came to my mind as well.
But apparently modelers who build aircraft are bored of the F-22, which supposedly comes in one color (grey) and has nothing to show for it except some really subdued numbers. Hence apparently the thinking was that there should be some custom kits - and ROTF Starscream was on the list.
For obvious reasons, it couldn't be Movie (1) Starscream, since he would actually look no different from a regular F-22...
In any event - I'm not surprised by the majority opinion on this subject...
Thanks, Pete
