Not really. She's dull as hell, in my opinion. Apologies to fans!

You mean you didn't dig a robot with some crazy attempted transylvanian accent?
For shame!

Gav didn't dig a plant-based robot? We must get to the root of this.

I thought she was supposed to be Welsh.

That may be the root of the problem.

If she was welsh then she might have been of miner assistance to the maximals in locating raw materials (and/or space-time rifts).

You mean you didn't dig a robot with some crazy attempted transylvanian accent? Andy Having watxhed Home Soil, Botanica's first episode, last night, I can confidently state that it is not a Transylvanian accent (nor Welsh, harumph). If anything, I would say it is some sort of African accent.

If anything, I would say it is some sort of African accent. It is a very faint African accent if it is, at least compared to most that I hear. Of course, it might not be meant to be any particular accent at all. Difficult to tell if it is anything like how she really sounds - after all, given that she was Dot Matrix as well she clearly has a fair range to call on. Karl

Botanica was the least annoying BM Maximal in my opinion, as she wasn't always griping or brooding like the rest of the miserable bunch.

You must've loved Diagnostic Drone then, he was the happiest and most content character of them all.

Yup, and Jetstorm, while he was in that state of blissful ignorance. They made the series watchable.
But only once.

You might enjoy the current animated TF series. What I've seen of it, the characters are fairly upbeat.

Possibly! I haven't read any threads on Animated though, so I don't know what it is or where and when it can be seen.
All I know about Animated is a few strange pieces of fan art in the fan art forum.
I was thinking of asking someone to indulge me with a one-screen synopsis of all the Transformers stuff I've paid no attention to in 2007 (i.e. everything besides the live-action film itself). What happens in the comics that pick up where the film leaves off? What is Animated? Does Longtooth live???
Any quick briefings gratefully received.

IDW's "Reign of Starscream" has Starscream taking control of the not-in-the-film Decepticons and, presumably, reigning. The UK comic had him raising the in-the-film Cons from the grave and will have Ironhide track down the AWOL Scorponok, and then do an alternate-reality "the Decepticons won" story.
Animated is the new cartoon, which is another reboot-of-continuity, where the war ended yonks ago and the Decepticons are scattered legends. Prime is an inexperienced new commander and his five-man crew have ended up in "New Detroit" with the Allspark - they're celebrated heroes and fighting crime. New Detroit is 50 years in our future, full of robotic technology - which, unknown to the Autobots, was reverse-engineered from Megatron, who has regained consciousness and is manipulating his reverse-engineerer by pretending to be a good guy.
Longtooth lives in the blackest pits of our souls.

So... um... Botanica!
