Ok, I see a button has now appeared on FB for it. Still clueless how it can help get the news feed in time order.

Go into it's settings by clicking the button
Check News Sort: Most Recent
Click save & close

Aside from FB messenger I don't think I have used FB proper in quite some time and I don't see that changing any time soon.

FB app seems plagued with loada of giant ads and feed now mostly unreadable. Is there anything that can get rid of the ads in the app?

Doubt it. I uninstalled the app from my phone and only occasionally dip into my feed on desktop. Even then it's a lot of ads. Still get the occasional gem showing through where people lose Easter egg rolling races though.

I find I use FB less now that every fourth post is an ad. Can't be buggered with it.

I only still have facebook for the messenger, mostly. Sometimes I remember to update the art pages but I just don't really bother on it.

If I didn't need it for TFN related stuff and to keep in touch with 1 or 2 people it would be junked. Awful site, and they've fucked Instagram and I dare say by the end of next year will fuck Whatsapp as well.
