Righty ho.
I apologise in advance for the tone of this thread as I realise there is a good chance I might come across as a bit of an ass. But in the words of Warren Ellis "It needs doing.".
Given that the previous thread has degenerated into a series of suggestions that are ultimately going to lead to discussion, but very little else I am taking the lead here.
The annual (which will be available when it's done by POD) will be the anthology project I posited. It allows the most amount of people to contribute. Perhaps next year given enough time someone can spearhead a project that focuses on one corner of the Transformers.
It will be set firmly in TMUK continuity and the stories should be Christmas-centric. Perhaps looking at the impact humanity has had on the Transformers.
As it's TMUK continuity that gives you Transformers, G2, Beast Wars and Beast Machines.
If you want to play with characters from the other continuities then you can introduce their TMUK equivalent.
I will be adding my Ethan Zachary/Floppy Prime tale - comic strip three/four pages. Mix of traditional and computer generated art.
I've asked Ken to do something (waiting to hear back). Likewise I have asked Martin to handle the framing aspect of this, if at all possible.
So if you have an idea and want to contribute post here and let me know.

I have a Christmas story that has not yet been published dotting around, featuring Bumblebee and Huffer, which is available if you think it might be of use.

Cover wise as it will be a POD will be something a bit more design based, rather than using the traditional illustration style.

POD? The naff Christian band??
I might regret this: I'll write a short text piece.
Just so I'm totally clear, is this is for x-mas 2009 or 2010?

Since you have clarified that it will all be set in Marvel/TMUK continuity, I'm on board.
Not convinced I want to use the Storyteller though for a few reasons. For one thing, he can't really cross over with Beast Machines since recalling the timeframes I don't think Mirage returns to our Galaxy and becomes the Storyteller until the 32nd Century, centuries after Graham's stuff takes place. And from a less technical standpoint, I don't know if it fits with him as a character to start telling lots of stories about this one of the many human religious festivals in the midst of an alien society for no particular reason. (It's not even the most important Christian festival.)
So! Happy to help with the framing story and for it to have a Christmas theme, but probably not set it in such an alien context as the Storyteller timeframe. Now I'm thinking creatively I'll probably have a whole bunch of ideas in the next few minutes.
I have no idea what POD means.

Good man! Points off for knowing who POD are though!
Xmas 2009. If it were 2010 I'd sort printing out another way as opposed to POD.

Ah! I've got my Christmas idea. Dunno if it's particularly suited to a framing story, but it's a new twist on TF Christmas stories, I think. Do I share it or keep it a secret?
Could be either text or strip (but I'm only up for writing it).

I keep coming back to a story idea that is so un-P.C that it cannot be used. I'm stroking my beard as we speak.

How many Christmas stories were there in the comic? I could do with re-reading them.

Funnily enough, they had about one a year or thereabouts. Christmas Breaker (Circuit-Breaker/Jazz) - circa #50 The Gift (Jetfire/Buster) - circa #100 Stargazing (Starscream) - circa #150 Cold Comfort and Joy (Powermasters) - circa #200 The Greatest Gift of All (PM Prime, b/w) - circa #250 And then round about issue #300 they were only doing reprints and they fobbed us off with a Dreadwind Christmas Carol parody on the Transformation page. Being a kids' mag, none of them were that deep or touched on religion or anything like that that might damage their impressionable minds (or, God forbid, suggest that Christmas was over-commercialised and that they should not focus all their efforts on pestering parents for new toys). It's possible that they all had snow in them, but I'm not entirely convinced every Christmas is a white Christmas in Oregon. Martin

I dunno, I quite like that Cold Comfort and Joy has the Transformers ruining Christmas and destroying people's homes by sheer accident.
