You sure did! I didn't want to say anything to see if someone else noticed. I got a message from a friend of mine in the TFCC that I was on the DVD in the 25 years featurette so I ordered it too. I didn't even know the camera was on the time I walked in front of it.

'Tis the luck of the Irish, it'll rub off on you for TF3.

You can also see Mr Roche as well, at a signing table in the farground.
On watching some of the Making Of bits, I was amazed at how much was actually filmed and not added in post-production. The CGI was kept to an absolute minimum (relatively speaking of course!).

Noticed on Play that you can buy a 4GB USB storage device with a DRM encoded version of the film on it. Pretty cool... But I'll stick with my Blu-Ray when it comes out.

I'm going to wait until they release a DVD boxset of both films before getting it. It's bound to happen - Hasbro or Paramount can't resist the opportunity!

I'd say there's likely to be some kind of duo pack available on the day ROTF comes out as seems to be the case whenever a sequel movie or next volume in a tv series comes out, it won't be a specially created box set but it'll be there.

There is one, here: www.amazon.co.uk/Transformers-Revenge-Fallen-DVD/dp/B002JPYJ1U/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1259034502&sr=1-4But as far as I can make out, it only contains the 1-disc editions of the two films, and it costs the same as the 2-disc ROTF set. Of course, there will be a trilogy pack in a few years time. Martin

Hrm. The Blu-Ray double pack is 4 disks, presumably featuring all the extra content, but skipping the digital copy included in the Blu-Ray ROTF 3 disk pack.

Anyone spotted any interesting retroactive ROTF reviews? Empire gave it 3 stars on cinema release, but have just given the DVD 2 stars. I always wonder is this down simply to the vagaries of maybe someone else reviewing it, or is it some kind of reflection on there being less pressure to focus on the positive of a massively hyped film that has been helping to sell the magazine?

I'm sure a DVD boxset of both films will turn up at some time with the extras discs also included (that will mean four discs). Many times I've brought or tempted to buy a boxset with two films or whatever on only to discover that about two months down the line another version is also released that has more stuff on it *cough*Metrodome Takara Collection*cough*.

Well the Metrodome Takara Collection extra is only a poor quality pirated version of Scramble City with burned in poor quality subitles (so the exact same common bootleg that can be found online), so technically illegal to sell the boxset in the UK!

Haven't watched the 2-hour making of documentary yet (that will be done in bits) but seen all the rest. Got nothing really from the commentary. The '25 Years of Transformers' wasn't that at all, but propaganda about how ROTF is the latest and greatest thing in a long-running franchise, showing lots of ROTF stuff. But I saw our Tony walking across the screen in the Botcon footage anyway.
The better stuff: the conceptual art for the robots, which includes a version of Prime that combines with his trailer. (Oddly, it is accompanied by tech-spec ratings that match the 1984 toys - so Bumblebee has strength 2, Starscream has rank 5 - 'cos of that mix-up with Skywarp's specs back in '84 - but Jetfire doesn't have rank 10 like he did in '85 so I don't know what happened there.)
The even better stuff: the pre-viz animatics, which show lots of robot action that never made it to full CGI - including Ravage in fish mode, Ravage launching himself back into space, Sideways transforming and wasting some humans before being killed by Sideswipe (making it less like an execution), clearer footage of the kitchen-bots, Arcee in combined mode, etc.

Those clips also confirm what I thought but couldn't make out clearly from the final film, namely that it was Ironhide hanging on to Demolishor/Wheelbot's wheel from the side and blasting it that brought him down, rather than Prime messing about on top of his head.
Edit: And we get to see the microwave kitchen-bot put one of his small friends inside his chest and microwave him until he explodes. Not a very nice thing to do.
The 2-hour making-of documentary is much more rewarding than the audio commentary. The bit about the live explosions in the final battle scene was impressive, and Michael Bay's rant about film critics at the end was amusing. The gag with the computer overloading and exploding trying to render Devastator was better though.

I had the film for Christmas - I was surprised and thrilled that my Dad had found the transforming Bumblebee version. I watched it last night. It was nowhere near as bad viewing it the second time around. I'm looking forward to watching the extras.

I have the film on DVD and have watched the special features and still can't summon up the will to watch the film itself. I've seen G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra a good three times now.

I've actually managed to watch the two TF films back to back one evening. With drink. It was actually OK!
Not in the same league of pleasure as watching all three extended versions of the LOTR films one day back to back though, which I've also done.

Not in the same league of pleasure as watching all three extended versions of the LOTR films one day back to back though, which I've also done. Not to totally derail the thread, but did this just prior to Christmas. Started at 9.30am, my housemates joined in gradually throughout Fellowship. Just after lunch the drinking games started. 1) When The Shire music plays. 2) When Frodo is being useless. 3) When Samwise is being awesome. 4) When Smeagol says "precious". 5) When someone says Morrdorrr in a pseudo Scottish accent rolling the middle R slightly. I think that was it...

1) When something explodes. 2) When the twins are being annoying. 3) When Jetfire is being awesome. 4) When someone says something you can't understand. 5) When Jetfire says something in a pseudo pirate accent rolling the middle R slightly.
I think there's more to it...

(3) and (5) tend to coincide, Nigel. And (2) is the same as saying 'when the twins are on screen'.
I would suggest:
1) Shot gratuitously inserted to make the US military look good. 2) Sexual innuendo. 3) Slow motion.

To be fair, the twins aren't usually annoying when they're driving along in car mode. So I'd suggest add yours as 6, 7 and 8; when 3 and 5 do coincide, take two drinks. For 8, the drink has to last as long as the shot. (Screen shot, not shot glass.)

I saw this on DVD the other night, and it was a bit better on a second viewing. I guess when you know where the story is going it makes more sense. I'd forgotten how lame the end Prime vs Fallen fight was though.

I'd forgotten the "I love you" sub-plot. Two years! Why are you still together?

Do we know if the film takes place in real time? It may only be 6 months after the events of the first film.
Amazon UK are selling ROTF 1 disc edition for under £5 at the moment.
