I just noticed that the Paramount UK and Odeon websites are showing a release date of the 19th, not the 26th.
The Paramount US website is showing the 24th.

Yeah, the general UK release was pulled forward a while ago. Not sure about the IMAX date though.

It was? When was that, then? You miss these things when you avoid the spoiler zone. There was a poster in the cinema last night, which wasn't there last week. It said the 19th. Annoyingly, I won't be able to go on the 19th, nor the 20th.

We have bus stop posters and billboards all around Bristol advertising the 19th. Some cinemas may even have advance previews before that.

The Odeon website has put its times up. I'm trying to make up my mind when to see it. I'm performing in a musical on Friday and Saturday, unfortunately. (Dashed inconsiderate of Paramount to move the film.)
1. The first possible showing - a midnight screening in Cardiff. (I wouldn't get home till 3 and being tired wouldn't be good for performing the following evening.) 2. The earliest screening in Bridgend, Friday morning. 3. The earliest digital screening on Saturday afternoon. (Friday's digital screening would be too tight for the theatre, but there could be packs of teens on Saturday afternoon.) 4. Not be bothered about seeing it as early as possible, seeing as I wasn't expecting it to open until next week anyway and so see a digital screening one evening next week. 5. Go to a premium screening in Cardiff next week, with complimentary refreshments, though it's twice the price of a normal screening.
Decisions, decisions, decisions.

Or you could join me for it in Cardiff Friday morning if you like.
There must surely be some satisfaction in seeing it before the US release date.
Edit: I'm booking for 10.30am at Vue next to the Millennium Stadium.

Midnight screening for me and my brother tomorrow. We did the same 2 years ago and it was a blast, even though it was my third time seeing it.
Hopefully I can get tickets. Last time it was packed. Which was good as its the closest to seing it with an American audience as I find in Britain and certain films, mostly the summer block busters really do seem meant to be seen by a boisterous audience.

Davidson and Burns plan to catch this at 7PM on Friday. It may be just the mindless nonsense I need after a knackering (but good) week at work.

My thinking exactly. 8pm on Friday for me.
Followed by txting Ralph quotes all through the night.
A perfect day.

I forgot to book my ticket when I was in town earlier so I did it online when I got home. Don't want to take any chances on opening night.

Just back from the 12.05am showing at my local cinema! Very enjoyable IMO. Plenty of explosions, running around and a good chunk of humour. I won't say anything else until everyone else has had a chance to see it, except that Wheelie and Sam's mum are hilarious.

I ended up seeing it on Tuesday afternoon, a HD screening. I didn't bother booking in advance as there were only three or four seats prebooked and there's a 75p booking fee. (They don't charge at the cinema when you use the same card. Cheek!) I planned to sit right in the middle, in the row behind the premium seats - I don't see the point of £1.50 extra for practically the same view. (Am I starting to sound cheap?) But when I got there, the seats had just gone! Slightly disappointed, I booked a seat immediately behind them, but when I got into the screen I found that they had sat in the row behind those they'd booked, ie my chair. I felt a bit daft asking them if they knew they were in the wrong seats when the screen was practically empty and I could have sat anywhere, but I didn't like to just sit in a seat they had rightfully booked. They might not have realised they were in the wrong seats. As it turned out, they weren't bothered about where they sat, so I ended up in the seat I'd wanted in the first place. Hurrah!
