Saw this the other night and was blown away. Fantastic acting from start to finish, great effects and a lot of fun. Some ropey CGI in the alien's clothes at times, but otherwise brilliant. Alien spaceships have come some way since Independence Day.

Yup, that makes three of us here who have seen it and loved it. However, while I would say it was the best film of the year, it is so dark and disturbing that I doubt I'll ever watch it through again. Martin

Really absorbing. My brothers seen it a couple of times and says it is very rewatchable, so I will likely rewatch on DVD.
I had a few issues with it. The transition from documentary style to regular film felt awkward (not a big deal just slightly odd) and the end became a very traditional action film. Absolutely nothing wrong with that it was still a good ending, but the first half was so unique it was a shame the end couldn't match it.

Yeah, the ending was all-action, but the first three quarters of the film had wound me up to such a level that I really needed that release. It really generated a disturbing emotional reaction from me - dunno about the rest of you, but by the end I was cheering every time a human got wasted. Which I'm not proud of, but shows the power of what they did.

I saw this a while back, didn't really do much for me. Though, in the film's defence, I think that might be because it was a bit too realistic therefore at no point was it actually fun.

Saw this on Friday. Thought it was excellent, though could have been a great film rather than a very good one had it been less action in the last third and more exploration of the intriguing issues set up previously. But very absorbing nonetheless. I thought the aliens were very well realised to the point where I often couldn't tell if I was seeing a man in a suit and/or CGI.

I got the DVD for my birthday and loved it. I thought there might be some Hollywood cop out at the end and everyone would live happily ever after but thankfully that wasn't the case. Top stuff.

VICKERS! There were rumours of a sequel, but I think that would spoil it.

Late to the party, but finally saw this. Not sure how it passed me by, but really enjoyed it.
The nods to The Fly (remake) were a nice touch.

Meh!
Saw this film and to me it didn't add up. There wasn't a solid story, wasn't solid in action, was all over the shop in character. Patchy in pretty much every aspect. I know some people enjoy a film with an open ending or that raises questions, but if a film raises questions doesn't answer any and has no internal logic to speak of then I'm unlikely to enjoy it unless its a pulse pounding action flick and this was not.
In short - meh!

I saw it for the first time the other night as well. I thought the acting of the main chap was absolutely brilliant, can't remember his name but I love him!. The general story, well, I think it's good that they tried to do something different. It didn't quite spank my monkey, but I did realy enjoy it. They had a great idea, but just didn't quite execute it right, and as yet I can't quite put my finger on why. But defo thumbs up for being different. I wouldn't mind a sequel, although there would indeed be a huge danger of it spoiling the first film.
