It seemed the obvious next question. In fact I don't own either of these, (the much smarter young me saw no need for the same character over and over again for the most part) so which is better?

Shockwave is the better toy, cuz he looks more like Shockwave than Prowl looks like Prowl... Does that even make sense?

Neither, Actionmasters suck. Then why post in an Action Master thread? You're not the boss of me!!! EDIT: Ok, I guess you are the boss of me. Here's some thoughts... Actionmaster Prowl does come with a motorbike. And toy motorbikes are cool. Shockwave does come with a partner robot, but that's just a blob with arms that folds out into a gun that is far too big for him to realistically use. But at least Shockwave can have chats with it. You could imagine Prowl's bike has AI like KITT, then he'd have someone to talk to. So yeah, if Shockwave could ride Prowl's bike, that would be the best of both worlds.

This ones got them on a comparable level. But Shockwave win - just with the fact it was the first Shockwave toy we could buy in the UK. We had Prowl out in original then reissue.

I think that is why I have always wanted Shockwave, he and Blaster were the only AM's of earlier characters I didn't get or have the other version of. Fate conspired on number of occasions to stop me. One time I went to Woolworths planning to get SW and I found MM HQ around half price. Another time I went to At Cost and came away with Powerflash instead. But as toys Prowl strikes me as a really cartoon model accurate mould, plus I can't help thinkng his Animated version was a little inspired by the Turbocycle . Shocks looks a bit wrong in AM proprtions, at least in photos not sure I've ever seen one in person let alone played with it. But I like the partners that look like they have personalities unlike the vehicles or Jazz's skateboard. Andy

I had Soundwave & Treadshot while my firend had Shockwave.
Yes - we did pretend to have Ravage & Laserbeak with the guns - due to them being so alike to the characters. But Shockwave gave you his troops from the cartoon.

You know, I think it's interesting that G1 Prowl had more points of articulation than "Actionmaster" Prowl...
Then again... I've been thinking... have I got it all wrong?
I always thought the "action" in Action master refered to how agile they were and poseable... but maybe it just refered to ...well.. .ACTION! like...adventure! Excitement! Action! It's just a random "exciting word."

Actionmaster Prowl has more useful articulation though - arms, head, legs and knees. What can original Prowl do, just stand like a brick, waving his arms about in agony?

Yes but a brick with wonderfully articulated arms, plus its got a kind of waist articulation and it can...... sort of bob down? Oh and he can turn his hands and look down upon people (well the minibots) with an air of superiority.

I'm voting for Shockwave in this one, because I think it adds insult to injury to have someone who should be able to turn into a car riding around on a scooter. Martin

Shockwave fig was very nice indeed. But Prowl has the Motorbike! And I don't remember Fistfight doing much for me. So Prowl again, just.
I don't have any vehicles/weapons anymore, but I have the following AM figs: Prowl, Jazz, Wheeljack, Blaster, Bumblebee, Shockwave, Soundwave, Starscream.

Did you get the figure from me? I can't remember who I sold it too, but I now have two cars and no drivers. I might give one to a spare Slicer I think I have now that I think of it.

I'm saying Shockwave.
Because; Shockwave never really lost anything by non being able to transform and Prowl's Turbo Cycle doesn't really transform, it just comes apart and is reformed in a different position.
Also. Fistfight has spring-loaded erection powers.
