I mentioned this in the Week 41 thread but it needs a thread of it's own. Ralph and I discovered this gem on Sky during his stay at Turnbull Towers.
It quite simply put is the best channel on TV.
You get loads of old classic serials such as The Clutching Hand and The Whispering Shadow.
Movies that are and I don't quite do them justice when I say "Bat-Shit Mental" such as The Freakmaker (Tom Baker just before he became the Doctor and Donald Pleasance feeding a rabbit to a carnivorous tree. Another film where fashion models disturb a Mummy's Tomb, one with Bigfoot in it whose name escapes me.
Featurette programs about alien abductions and wicca which are side-splittingly hilarious.
Channel 201 in the Sky EPG.

It is indeed a mighty haven of tat.
The bigfoot film was called 'The Capture of Bigfoot', even though he gets away at the end.

The Zone Horror channel also does some hilariously bad B movies. It's this channel where I discovered that a film was made called War of the Worlds 2 that has bugger all to do with the original 50's film. I also caught a film once called Redneck Zombies as well (no prizes for guessing what the film was about) and also one called gore-fest film called Rottweiler (again, no prizes for guessing what goes on there also).

Not as good as STV Edinburgh though.

The best local channel was the one in Glasgow. Manchester's is very ho-hum.

No - STV Edinburgh was more comical than STV Glasgow.
Sadly they are now amalgamated as STV 2.
Mind that crazy ass Soul Cake Donut thing on one of the religious channels though Ralph? Nightmare fuel.

On a vaguely related tangent....
I see from elsewhere that Tiffani Bannister, of Live TVs Tiffani's Big City Tips, sadly died recently.
Her presentation of the financial news on that channel will live in the memory of those who saw it!

And for odd old tat Talking Pictures TV seems to be the current gold mine, albeit with bad prints and a shockingly low bitrate.

Talking Pictures TV is grand - thanks to it I finally saw Robert Fuest (of The Abominable Doctor Phibes fame) adaptation of Michael Moorcock's - The Final Programme.

I heard about Talking Pictures TV on the Film Programme last week. Worthwhile venture I say. I shall be keeping an eye on listings.

When anyone can start their own channel on youtube or do HD live streaming with one touch from the Book of Face there just isn't the market for them. I miss STV Edinburger though. Hilarious. -Ralph
