Rattrap, even before seeing the show based just on the toys Rattrap was a favourite along with Razorbeast. After seeing the show Rhinox came close but never pipped Ratty.

Rattrap is my favourite Maximal from the show, by far. If you were to ask me my second favourite, then I'd start to struggle. I'm equally fond of each of the Axalon crew, Dinobot, and Silverbolt. Depthcharge, Airazor and Tigatron, not so much. If I remember correctly, for the first few episodes I actually thought Rattrap was annoying, being the confrontational cynic with no regard for orders. But the fact that he went from that to a practically selfless and almost certainly the best warrior, who places life, honour and friendship on such a high keel (whilst acting like he doesn't) just makes him so full of win. Plus, he was consistently the funniest. Now, the Preds? I honestly couldn't tell you. Megatron, Inferno, Tarrantulas, Waspinator, Terrorsaur, Quickstrike... They were all fantastic! Beast Wars outside of the show? Razorbeast. He was my first BW toy, and my first exposure to BW in general. And a decade later Simon Furman turned him into a legend.  |
