Hope Kat does some postcards or got nothing for her to sign. Back when I was going to be self-printing the AA comic I approached Kat and a few others to see if they'd be interested in maybe doing some pin-ups or sketches that I could add in the back of the book, and she did me this; Since the strip is going to be in The Cybertronian Times now, I won't get the chance to use it and have let her know. So I wouldn't be surprised if she tries to get some use out of it at AA herself. And yeah, that queue for Nick last year was real off-putting. I wonder if he would be willing to do a small Hub-exclusive non-sketch signing one evening after the doors close... If you still want a sketch, you still have to queue.

I tried to stand in Nick's queue on the Sunday morning, but I was hungover and a heavy metal band was playing in my ear, so I went and stood outside for a bit instead.

Just image the above Rattrap as a plastic keyring [with the claw area curved so not sharp & the chain on the tail.]

Urgh, sorry but thinking the weekend will be too expensive now After I factor in tickets, hotel for 2 nights, travel, food it's adding up... Feel a bit s**tty after the excitement surrounding the Subbuteo tournament.

What's your total budget dude? I'm sure there are ways to make it as affordable as possible for you with every part of it. Hell, me, my wife and daughter are cutting our food bills by stocking up on pot noodles and stuff for the hotel room and then pigging out on the hotel breakfasts in the morning but there are cheaper hotels around than the Holiday Inn if you need to make savings there.
Travel costs can be cut too with advance bookings for train, or looking at coach for an option depending on where you're travelling from.

Well the issue is that my trip the week after is likely to be more expensive than planned and the I'm likely going away in September and October too. Something had to be cut and unfortunately it was AA.

Part of the reason for me wanting to go is social reasons, so staying the night in a hotel would be a must. Plus travelling up just for a day, mehhhhhhh.

Nope, nothing that dodgy! lol
On a serious note, we have had a ban on fan sales of toys at the convention for several years apart from private "pre-arranged" sales. This year, I'm looking into setting up a fan sales table attached to the Registration Desk where people will be able to drop off their unwanted toys and other TF merchandise and we will sell them on your behalf and your specified asking price with a small commission going to convention funds.
If it sells, you pick up the cash whenever you want during the weekend or you can adjust the selling price or even withdraw it from sale if you wish. I'm just working out the details at the moment.

That's not a bad idea. Would a contribution from sales go towards the convention charities?

At the moment I'm really looking towards making sure that the convention breaks even before we do anything else! lol After we achieve that, we usually do look at convention excess funds where they exist and that tends to be split with some being re-invested back into the convention and some going to our charities to "top up" what has already been raised through the auction and raffle.
