There was a bat mutant in the season 2 promo that looked nothing like Wingnut, so I'd imagine that "Kirby's Bat" is literally going to just be Kirby's bat and that they decided to hold off on Wingnut. I also read an interview a couple months back where they were talking about the process of choosing who to bring back and they specifically said "If we have a story that needs a bat, we'll look at Wingnut. But at the same time, we don't want to use Wingnut just for the sake of using Wingnut. We'd only use Wingnut if it served the character as well as the story."

I'm not having much luck with the QC on these TMNT figures... after the non functional missile launcher on Metal Head and subsequent breaking off of it's hand, today I received Baxter Stockman... and he was only packaged with one foot!

I've avoided that Baxter myself, since there is likely to be a fly version later down the line.

Word on the street is that Season 2 will now premiere in October.

So here's a random ponderence while we wait for season 2 to kick off... if you could choose five characters from any past iteration of the franchise to be reintroduced, who would they be? How would you like to see them portrayed to be in keeping with the new tone?

The first guy who comes to mind is Pizza-Face. He's never had any appearance in the shows except for a small Jim Lawson comic strip. There is no canon stories to compare to, so he's pretty much a clean slate.

I can see this psycho pizza chef being a named-by nemesis of Michaelangelo for sure.


2nd would be Mona Lisa as there are hardly any female characters in the show that aren't April or Karai. Perhaps she could be a mutated Irma. Mona Lisa is a rebel with a cause from the old Fred Wolf show. Perhaps she could picket TCRI and cause some damage.

Ninjara- Wouldn't be any different than the original, aside from being portayed as a bit more youthful. Maybe not as serious, as well.

Mona Lisa- I'd make her younger, and give her sort of a loli-rave girl makeover. Make her a good counterpart for Mikey.

Miyamoto Usagi- No changes from the comic. he's awesome just the way he is.

Armaggon- An experament by the Kraang, to combine mutants with Kraang technology. One of the biggest baddies in the series.

Chromedome (I think that's his name?)- As part of the alliance between the Foot, and the Kraang, Chromedome is the Kraang's attempt to create a Shredder-like android soldier drone that's much more suited to fighting the turtles than their standard drone.

Mondo Gecko - The way they played his origin in 'Adventures' could work. Only instead of a metal band I think these days he'd fit in better with a Less Than Jake-style ska-punk band. His band would be practicing in an old warehouse used by the Kraang rather than Shredder. Named by Mikey, and becomes for him what Casey Jones is set to be for Raph.

Bebop and Rocksteady - Maybe not as regulars, but perhaps to the Purple Dragons as the Pulverizer is to the TMNT... pathetic and desperate. Accidentally mutated when the Dragons send them on some faux-initiation job that was meant just to get rid of them. strike out on their own, hate the Dragons, more formidable than Dogpound and Fishface.

Unnamed Foot Ninja from the 2007 TMNT movie - The silent guy who's always by Karai's side and responds with nods and other gestures. The end of that film when Karai helps him escape and it's treated as natural is the first time I think we've ever seen the Foot show human concern for one-another, and it makes them more real. I think this new series could play that kind of humour very well...

Mondo Gecko would be my third choice. Much preferred his Archie origin over the toon. Also some minor Mutanimal nods later down the line.

Apparently, Rocksteady and Bebop are confirmed for Season 2 alongside the classic Turtles.

I need to keep up to date with second season news, clearly. I like your idea for Irma/Mona and Crazy's idea for Chromedome, so I'll swap thise out with Bebop and Rocksteady.

Since season 2 is said to be mutant (toy) heavy, I'd consider Hot Spot as choice 4.

Would be good to have a character who is more about rescuing than fighting. I don't think he has ever been used in the toons/comics before. Another mutant dog, but certainly as a breed that stands out.

Had an idea for a new series Ace Duck tonight.

A Cropduster/aircraft mechanic, Ace has a love for oldschool aviation, and all things that fly, really. But he particularly loves old things like biplanes and steam engines. he gets exposed to mutagen, and mutated into a wingless duck.
In reality, he's more upset that he didn't get wings, than he is at being mutated. So, he builds himself a set of wings and a jetpack.
Basically, Ace Duck meets the Rocketeer. Steampunk Ace Duck.

I will now be disappointed if Irma does not show up. We need an awkward love triangle of her crushing on Donnie, while he only has eyes for April.

Would be kinda fun for Irma to be less frumpy "forty year old virgin" like the original cartoon, and more girl geek. Maybe a bit of Otaku in her.

Maybe Leo is still kinda bummed and bitter about Kurai turning on them (Even though they betrayed her trust, not the other way around), and April trying to help him get over this tries to fix him up with Irma?

Speaking of wishlists, I was thinking of Walker (Turtles III) as my fourth(?) choice. The only British character to my knowledge in TMNT lore. This guy would either be stuck in modern day-era or be a modern day take on the arms dealer. Can imagine him doing hook-ups for the Purple Dragons.
