I take it you're referring to some new incarnation of the classic 80's sci-fi?

Yes. Visitor/ V is back, although I understand it is not a remake or reboot but its own thing. One recognisable cast member in it is Laura Vandervoort who played Kara/Supergirl in Smallville a couple of years ago, although I am sure there are some other recognisable faces hiding the lizard skin.

Whatshername, the blond female Others' doctor from Lost is also in it.
Sci Fi have been trailing the series quite heavily for a couple of weeks and they're not broadcasting it until next year. I think it might have been overhyped by then. It's already started in Ireland, apparently.
I've been thinking, I must rewatch the original mini series before the new version starts and get hold of The Final Battle, too. I'm not bothered about the series, though, as it was a bit pants. I seem to remember it picked up a bit around the middle, but I can't remember if that coincided with Michael Ironside joining the cast.

I've never seen the original series but people keep telling me how good it was so I'll have to check it out for myself sometime.

It is a remake, Ken. The original creator had to go to the Writers Guild for arbitration when he found parts of his scripts for the old show were being used!
