Frig me, that is the highest ratio of great looking vehicle to ugly robot I've ever seen in a TF line.

It's interesting that you say it's challenging without being frustrating. I had trouble returning it to vehicle mode the other day. Just as I was starting to get frustrated and think I was going to have a Ralph Magnus moment, I saw the humour in my predicament and averted my frustration.
I actually went to make myself a cup of tea mid-transformation and was soon able to see the logic of the legs when I returned.
Ironically, when I'd first transformed Mixmaster with the instructions, I was impressed with the transformation.
I think Mixmaster is a good example of how today's Transformers toys often miss the right ratio of complexity to playability.

Everyone approaches these kinds of things from different perspectives. My reviews are only my own perspective after all.
But, yes, you are right in that a lot of toys miss that ratio. Skids and Mudflap, especially for their size, are extremely complicated, for example.

I don't enjoy overcomplicated toys so this would not be one for me.
