I've watched the first two episodes of the Cybertron show.
I liked them. I feel vaguely that this should make me feel dirty.

Ach, Cybertron's grand! If you can make it through that really badly mooshed-together first episode, there's not likely to be anything that'll really rub you the wrong way about the rest of the show. Although there is that absolutely druge of a racing arc in the early-to-mid teens.

It's pretty good so far, though the fact Prime, Vector Prime and Megs sound exactly like Beast Wars characters throws me off at times. It's like how Gennai and two Digidestined were RID Autobots.

Really? I even liked Cybertron less than Energon! I love the concept, but the combination of the bizarre script, bored voice acting and horrid CGI just completely puts me off.

I still havent seen the first few I caught it from the race arc which was boring but I stuck with it and it does improve. The lets give everyone an accent trick amused me as did the increasingly long and random talking over the stock footage transforming sequences. also Transforming traffic light and telephone.
Oh and Scourge being repeatedly told off made me laugh. I know it shouldn't but it does.

I didn't mind the show as I watched it as Galaxy Force, but I did catch an episode or two when it was on the citv channel and I thought it was awful.
Slaughter me if you want, but I haven't enjoyed any of the shows starting from Beast Wars onwards due to my hatred of the voice work. Thank god Animated came along and restored my faith in TF cartoons being entertaining again.

bored voice acting and horrid CGI just completely puts me off. The CGI is horrendous (and WHY are the Transformers all CGI when everything else isn't?!), but the voice actors sound like they're having a good time to me. the increasingly long and random talking over the stock footage transforming sequences. I haven't got to that bit yet!

Really? I even liked Cybertron less than Energon! You... you... must be watching it wrong, or something. I mean, I ain't gonna argue the silly CG, but the scripts are perfectly solid (even on a purely technical level, they outstrip everything from Armada and Energon) and are actually *funny* into the mix, and the voice acting is *leagues* better than anything Energon offered up. Character actually have distinct, memorable voices and accents, instead of the generic transatlantic drone of the previous shows.

I wont try and defend the animation, calling it basic is an understatement, but at least using the cg models prevented the awful hand drawn constantly changing and super deformed art of armada.

I couldn't stand any of the Unicron Trilogy of shows. I just thought that the stories were a bit bland but thats just my opinion.

I enjoyed the second half of Armada, none of Energon (but do like Energon's toys and comic) and I enjoyed the storyline for Cybertron

The first half of Armada was eeh to so-so, the second half was good to genuinely amazing.
The first half dozen episodes of Energon were great, but then it just descended into badly animated nonsense. Literally, nonsense, since they mangled the script so much.
With Cybertron, it is just all the constant yap-yap-yapping of characters and the bizarre proto-CGI. It should be good, but just falls so so far of the mark.

The music on Cybertron is quite good too - it sounds like they left the Japanese score in place, and quite right too. Character actually have distinct, memorable voices and accents, instead of the generic transatlantic drone of the previous shows. Fun fact - Scott McNeil was replaced because he couldn't make Jetfire sound Aussie enough. Scott McNeil is from Brisbane.

Well there could be worse things that can infect you at this time of year, so by that means knock yourself out and over indulge in Cybertron.
It coul dbe worse, at least you aren't infected by Kiss Players.

I only saw bits of a couple of episodes of Cybertron. That was enough to tell me it wasn't my thing. I tried watching Galazy Force previously and it made me want to spoon my eyes out.

I just reached Retreat and the halfway mark. Awesome. Starscream's beatdown on the entire Autobot army is brilliant.

Revelation, with Mudflap facing off against Landmine and Megatron gunning down three long-time characters, was unexpectedly dramatic for this show!
(The characters will be getting new toy- er, bodies, but still...)

I've reached the episode where the kid's parents discover the truth. Said parents refer to the massive Decepticon invasion of, well, yesterday show-time as "airplanes".
Said invasion had the Decepticons flying around in robot forms and everyone going "oh no, robot aliens!", up to and including the US government.
If they forgot that, why does the Autobot's turning up make them start believing? They'll just dismiss them as cars five seconds after the episode ends, surely.
