I'm up to Galvatron's appearance - and bloody hell, he's genuinely intimidating!

The thing about Galvy is, they already made Megatron so stupidly powerful, Galvatron is just *unspeakable* in terms of both strength and ridiculousness. It's all sort of summed up when he stops Metroplex's axe with a finger.

Watching Cybertron though... you cannot tell me Vector Prime is one of this sacred, important Thirteen and Sideways is the Armada Sideways. They've got too many silly scenes for that to work (which is great, cos Sideways gets some bloody funny scenes like his boredom and listening to not-Soundwave).

I've just seen the ep where Scourge has a duel for honour - i.e. allows himself to be beaten into immobility, which only Bud thinks is daft.
This may make more sense to the original Japanese audience, but I doubt it.

And now Vector Prime's died, which is a tearjerker. Especially when the clear subtext to "he won't truly die, he's watching us!" being said to Bud is "he's going to Heaven".

I knnnooooow, that's seriously got to be one of the best TF deaths. And Bud doesn't even really *get it*, which is just so sad.

You've finished the series by now, haven't you, Charles? Any thoughts on the end?

I like the first episode a lot, it's a great send-off - but you just know the ships taking off worked a lot better when the Japanese theme played over it!
I like Sideways and Soundwave's little bit of dub solidarity too.

I only ever got to see half of Cybertron, but I enjoyed it Everything I've read about the dub is most of the insanity comes about because the japanese version is supposed to be extremely boring, with loooong stretches with no one saying anything at all, such as the autobot launch sequence.
I miss Vector Prime. He was great in the show, and hasbro had an absolute blast with him in his Ask Vector Prime thing. So much more fun and so much more vivid than The Thirteen thing they replaced him with. (But at least they got rid of the multiversal singularity concept)

I know, right? Best part of the aligned-verse! They shifted the 13 over there and gave up on forcing that massive headache on every single continuity.
It's one thing to say "every continuity has the same basic origin, and the 13 line-up is the same in every continuity." But it's an instant trainwreck to say "These are the exact same individuals across every continuity. The Fallen that appeared in War Within is the exact same person as the fallen in RotF, who is the same as all the fallens across the million RotF sub-continuities. Same dude. We don't know how this works even though we came up with it, so stop asking us and just accept it."
I think that was the single biggest narrative mistake hasbro ever made.

Just imagine if you where to count how many times the line
"Cyber key power"
was used during the series.

Whoever tries would soon being in a white strapped jacket. I don't think the voice actor remember how many times they said it - & they would have said it 50 times more than the recorded stuff.

I agree with this too - this one is right up there with Prime in the Movie and Dinobots death in BW. Very sad, especially the Bud thing. Starscreams death in Armada was also well done, I think. Come on Hasbro - give the kids a Transformers: Deaths Through The Ages Compilation dvd!
