Volume 5 of IDW's series of reprints of the old Marvel Transformers comics is out tomorrow, and it reprints issues #62-74. These issues feature Circuit Breaker, which in earlier volumes meant that issues were skipped and a summary was given instead.
However, this volume reprints the issues in full and gives the Marvel copyright info for Circuit Breaker in the indica. Why they didn't bother doing this for the earlier voumes, I don't know.
So if anyone was worried about purchasing the volume due to missing issues, no more worries!

I imagine a certain degree of money changed hands for them to be able to use the character

Are they going to use her in re-releases of the previous volumes?
(And what about Death's Head?!)

Good question.
Personally if I had to guess, they have purchased the rights to use Circuit Breaker in reprints, so it is likely we would see her if they reprinted earlier issues again (but then again, I doubt they'd have got Spiderman!)
Now, Marvel have actually been using Deaths Head, both recently in his current form, but also Death's Head III quite a lot in cameo roles. So would the use of him be GOOD for Marvel since it stirs up interest in the character, or BAD because IDW is a direct competitor (and remember, Marvel have their own Deaths Head collections out). Also for IDW to consider is that the comics with Deaths Head have already been reprinted, would it be worth it for them to go after the license for use of the character?

but then again, I doubt they'd have got Spiderman! Pity they don't reprint everything in #3 except Spider-Man - there's some nice non-Spidey bits in it. Good question. Maybe it'd have to be like New Avengers/Transformers: a joint venture. Both get money! His Transformers stories have been reprinted, but so have every other Transformer story that IDW is reprinting. If they wanted to corner the market, they'd be going for Man of Iron, The Enemy Within, and the Christmas stories.

I haven't kept up with the various Marvel reprints. Which are the books that reprint the later Marvel TF Universe entries in the back, please?
Thanks.

IDW Classic Transformers vol. 4. I didn't see any in vol. 5 when I flicked through it.

IDW Classic Transformers vol. 4. I didn't see any in vol. 5 when I flicked through it. That's a shame. I haven't spotted Vol. 5 on the shelves but I had a flick through Vol. 4 in FP Cardiff today, and I really like the reprinted profiles. If Vol. 5 printed the remaining ones (Punch, Fortress Maximus, the remaining Headmasters, etc.) I think I'd buy 4 and 5 in order to have them all in trades. But if they've only printed the first half of them (those in Vol. 4) I don't think I'll bother. Martin

Ah, I've saved myself the expense of buying these volumes just to have the later Transformers Universe entries all in one place on my bookshelf, by printing them all out from this website and putting them in a nice plastic binder. That's that sorted! And now I appreciate all the more Graham's efforts to produce A-Zs of the likes of Doubledealer, Hun-Grrr and Sinnertwin, who got missed out of the Universe profiles in the US comics! Martin

Cheers. I had no idea they were online. I must abuse someone's printer.
