How many days do we have before this changes over to week 1 2010?

4 days of 2009, 3 of the year we make contact.
Has anyone got one of those year planner things in their diary that has the words week 1 against some dates ?

Back to work for a couple of days. Off on Wednesday for a friend's birthday back on Thursday and off again on Friday.
Groovy!

Jesus. On. A. Jetpack it's cold out there. When I got to work this morning it was -4C and the air was thick with freezing fog. Toys'r'us had about four customers in our first two hours of business because no-one in their right mind wanted to be outside. When I got out of work some of the snow was missing so I assume it has been above zero at some point today, but it was still colder than a shaved polar bear's nutsack and only got worse in the long trudge between buses in the city centre. I just missed one and had to chase it down the road because the pavement was a sea of ice. Didn't catch it. Missed another one walking between stops trying to keep warm. Thankfully there was a third waiting at the terminus and he was revving the engine to keep the heating running. It's -6C right now according to Wunderground. Two more days of this to go. Two more early, frost bitten rises before it's off to sunny Falkirk for a long weekend of Irn Bru, central heating and hammering drunken Ralph at Soul Calibur. -Nick

Last seasonal shift at Asda tonight. Very easy compared to last weeks frantic early mornings. It's amazing how many people will come out at 6am to avoid the mad rush of a few hours later. Only trouble was my right leg locking up this afternoon. Everything around the knee just feels a little out of place. Made driving home quite hard as I couldn't quite get my foot across to the brake as easily as I should have.
Got a free ticket to see Hull City Man Utd yesterday which was fantastic. Hull played well for a change and the atmosphere was much the better for it. Uniteds fans were highly entertaining too.

It's bloody cold out there. Got lost on the way home from M's and required talking assistance to get back via the mobile, thus eating up the tenner I had just put in it. Ah well, better than being outside!

I suggest Nick hammers drunken Ralph at Space Wars. It provides much mirth.

Yeah! Space Wars! None of this modern CG FMV photo-realistic video game pish! Just give me a green screen, a couple of sprites and some beep beep noises and that's all I need in my games!

I phoned up this job agency this morning enquiring about a job they had advertised and they told me to email them my CV which I did so. A few minutes ago they rang me up and asked me to come into their offices to sign up with them tomorrow which can't be bad thing.
In the past few months I've contacted a lot of job agencies and all of them have ignored me so this comes as quite a surprise. Before in the past I've phoned up agencies, I've written to them, emailed them and even taken time out to visit them in person but all of them have ignored me. This recent job agency is clearly better than all of those and it even turns out it is in fact to be the same job agency that got me the job at my former workplace all of those years ago but they are now running under a different name.

The first full week of 2010 will be Week 1.
This week is like Unspace, and whatever we do or say doesn't count.
Go nuts.

If next week starts Week 1 2010 and 2009 finishes on Thursday does that mean we are between dimensions (or something like that) for Friday, Saturday and Sunday because they are not part of 2009 but they are neither part of the first week of 2010!

My logic says that a week means seven consecutive days, so if I say "a week ago", for example, I mean last Tuesday. Week 1 2010 therefore means the first week of 2010, i.e. the first seven days of 2010 - whatever day of the week it starts on. Week 1 2010 starts on a Friday and ends on a Thursday.
But I'm willing to accept Hub logic if it reaches a different conclusion.

My library card turned up today, which is a good thing. I see it allows access to online resources as well as lending facilities. Splendid.
Also got myself sorted with registering for a GP now I have photo ID retrieved from the parentals. I enjoyed peeing into the beaker. In the New Year I shall sort myself out with a dentist and that will be me finally completely integrated into Edinburger. Muh huh huh.
Bag is fully packed with assorted tat, food and booze for a trip to Planet Falkirk for a few days for New Year japery. I merely await the message from Kaptain Karl to say he is ready for me to breach the transduction barrier and materialise in the Capitol.
This be my final missive from this decade. See you all in 2010...the year...we make...CONTACT!

I have spent this morning doing some cleaning and shopping, and nursing my ailing computer. An upgrade to AVG 9.0 did bad things to it, so a System Restore was needed to roll back time to before the disaster. Fortunately I am of a House that are well acquainted with the workings of the Time Vortex.
And now the signal has been sent out, to summon the Doctor back to the Capitol to face the END OF TIME ITSELF!
This will be my last transmission before I slide across the Event Horizon and out of the collapsing 2009 and into the unknown realm of 2010.....
Have a good one, and I shall see you all on the other side!
Karl

A blow was dealt to my local area on Boxing Day. Our local MP David Taylor had a heart attack and died as a result which shocked the community (there's even a Facebook page created for this reason). David Taylor was unlike the MP's you see on the news. Many an occasion I have seen him walking around Coalville town centre where his office was based and also he regularly popped into the pubs in my own village on occasion for a pint or two. He was due to step down at the next election and this is a sad loss for a community that he had earned much respect from.

I've been spending the last few days of the holiday season helping out with the local pre-school. A recent OFSTED inspection did'nt go down too well.
Needless to say, I've been spending a lot of time out of my break to help fix up the place and make it gleaming.
As an unexpected turnout, I am being offered a part-time job around my uni schedule later in 2010 with the pre-school (funds permitting). That would be awesome!
