Indeed. Another bullet in the True Friend chamber... We have long established that digital goods don't work as True Friend gifts. Has to be something physical. -Ralph

While we are talking about good music (not sure where else to put this), I feel it is important to point out that Prophet of the Last Eclipse is the greatest album ever made. Sadly it doesn't seem available anywhere but apparently the youtube upload is an official upload!
For Frontios fans, the panpipes come in at about 35 mins

New Linkin Park. I gave up about three albums ago hoping for a third album in the style of the first two, so I'm totally open to whatever they want to do these days. This new one will be the most complained about of all as it has no heavy metal at all, just ten short, light tracks totalling just over 35 minutes of music. In days gone by this sort of thing would come out as an EP with the warning 'not our usual stuff', but, it's really good. It's not my usual style of music at all, but it's still recognisably LP. I can see this accompanying a glass of white in the garden on a summer's evening. It's light bodied, but eminently quaffable.

Radiophonic Workshop's Burial in Several Earths arrived yesterday.
It's ..... interesting. Don't like all off it but the last track on disc 2, The Strangers' House, I really liked yesterday

Finally got around to buying and listening to Springsteens Coventry show from 1 year ago today. I forgot what a good setlist it was.

I remember first hearing Wuthering Heights. Blew my mind. That's the song that's got me hooked on KB. I'd heard the song before obviously, but two days ago, thanks to Mrs Shocks, I listened properly to it for the first time. Mrs Shocks now regrets this, as I dance around the house singing it loudly.

You're going to look at me funny for this, but I came in contact this afternoon with a metal band called Jaldaboath who fit the kind of tongue in cheek viking metal type sound, but with a medieval spin. Basically what Monty Python's Holy Grail knights would sound like if they were a band. There's some great mashups - like this mix of Iron Maiden's Trooper with the themes from Wizbit and Airwolf. No, really. www.youtube.com/watch?v=bkLKhel-l9sIf that appeals, try their first album. I think it's brilliant nonsense. www.youtube.com/watch?v=G93BoG81MH0

Picked up the new Foo's album on vinyl today (hipster revivalist), as it also comes with an MP3 download, but yes, pretty good listen all in all.
