I bought one of the new echo dots in the Boxing Day sale, came with a six month freebie sub to Amazon music unlimited. I thought it might be fun to experiment by using the audio out on it to wire it into the stereo. It works like that really well and the sound quality is fine. I've never felt the need to have an echo, but there's possibilities here with the music.

Very useful for adding some Atmosphere into Mrs Pinwig's evening while you're a safe distance away in the study

I quite like the idea of being able to listen to any album ever at the drop of a hat. I had The Orb on earlier. I've only ever heard Metallic Spheres (Gilmour obviously) and their rendition of the Who theme, so I thought, I can explore here.

Are you confusing The Orb with Orbital?

Very probably. I'll have a listen to them too.

Toxygene is possibly my favourite Orb song.

Orb I'm getting on with. Orbital throws up too many 90s style electronic dance tracks, Chime being a good example. That kind of music needs to stay dead.
Discovered Schiller today. German synth/electronica. Very nice.

Orbital have some good stuff. Nothing Left is decent enough.

Yes, you see I know you're into that type of 90s dance music from the late night thread, but I can't stand it. I'm not even really sure why.

Picked up three of the new 2000ad audios via Audible. America, The Pit and The Ballad of Halo Jones.
Joseph Fiennes as Dredd is a tad softer-spoken than you would think.

I haven't listened to the new thrillcast about these yet, what are they? Full dramatisations or readings?
I still haven't listened to the subscriber audios rebellion have done from the future shocks.

I'd forgotten how much I loved hearing the voice of the Dalai Lama until I put on the radio at a random time and found myself listening to him talking about the philosophy of the mind. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b01qhd07Martin

Barack Obama’s audiobook (read by the man himself) has become a fascinating listen on long car journeys.

Watching Alchemy on Sky Arts with Liz. Listened to the album loads ever since my friend Carolyn ran me off a copy at sixth form college Autumn 89 but this is the first time I've ever seen the concert!
We managed to get Jonathan to keep quiet during Private Investigations and Sultans of Swing.
My eye was caught in the footage shot outside by a poster for a band that Chaz Jankel of the Blockheads was playing in!
