I'll have to stop posting comments on certain Facebook pages because at the moment I'm getting friend requests from complete strangers who read my posts and think 'hey, this guy sounds good I think I'll send a friend request out to him!' I really do want to keep my friend list down to people I know and it annoys me that there are people who will request to be friends with complete strangers just because they've posted a comment on a discussion board.

I went to buy a mop after work. Naturally, I bought the one which advertised ELECTROSTATIC WIPES.
Yep, they saw me coming.

Does the mop also enhance television reception?

A mop with electrostatic powers, whatever will they think of next? I take it that blue sparks crackle across it when it is being prepared to be used. (Or is it red sparks? I can't remember which colour denotes evil electricity and which good.....)
Another hectic day of work today - going fairly close to flat out for the majority of the day and eventually trundling out of the office around six again.
Then carefully walking _around _ the remaining ice on the way home so as not to whizz home on my very own ice-slide. (I'm more a web-shooters kind of guy....)

I spent half the day cleaning fine drywall and concrete dust off my equipment after the company sharing building space knocked down a wall to make their lab larger. Fortunately they thought to tape off around the door into my microscope room, so that stayed clean.

The ELECTROSTATIC WIPES are a fools errand! Can't beat a bucket of water and an old fashioned mop. Balls.

What would happen if you introduced, in a controlled environment, an electrostatic wipe to a bucket of warm soapy water?

I may try out this very experiment in the not too distant future.

Hmm. Although most of the snow and ice have faded around here the slope down which I careened on Sunday night remains covered in ice. I can only assume that it has some sort of special micro-climate of its own. Not impossible on Planet Falkirk mind you.
We still haven't had a rubbish collection since the week before New Year. It is probably our general rubbish bin week - at least, no-one around here has their blue bin out - but so far there is no sign of them coming around for them. Will it be another two weeks before the rubbish moldering in peoples bins is collected, or will it start to schulmp its way down to the landfill site all by itself before that happens? Only time will tell.....

The likely chance is it will mutate into some giant potato peel monster and find it own way to its final resting place!

I'm not awaiting anything TF related in the post at the moment. There is a few comics that I want but I'm waiting until all of my bills are paid for the month before going on a comics spending spree again TF wise.

It's the demon spellchecker that seems to hate the term G 1. Interestingly though, if you write 'G 1 G 1' (remove the spaces between the 'G' and the '1' though) and it lets the second 'G 1' pass.
Strange. Very strange!

We've got the glaziers coming in next week. Unfortunately they're doing my room on the 28th, and I should really be here to make sure the place is clear for them. Unfortunately unfortunately, this rather puts London Toy Fair out of my reach- apologies Jim, and thanks for the invitation, but fate has decreed against it.
I'm now all booked up for a flying visit to London- arriving Tuesday evening, sitting the exam Wednesday lunchtime and jumping straight back on the train Wednesday evening. If any London-esque Hubbers are around the Hammersmith area next Tuesday night, give me a shout.

I'm in London next Tuesday for an all-day meeting but I'm travelling there and back in one day, and only setting foot in Paddington and Westminster, so the chances of our paths crossing are minimal.
Busy week. Was in Birmingham yesterday (there and back), with a colleague's retirement meal at a restaurant in Cardiff in the evening. Caught up with a fair bit in the office today, and taking tomorrow off to run down my flexi-hours. Tonight I'm hopefully meeting the group that support my local nature reserve in my local pub. Now _they_ know how to pick a meeting venue. Forget Government offices in London and and conference venues in Birmingham - I want all my meetings to be held in the Three Brewers!

This is one of those weeks at work in which you struggle because you are new and are still clueless about most things, as a wise man once said. Ugh. I shall try to get some forward momentum back tomorrow.

Tense and irritable all day, due to the idiots in Massachussetts ruining all chance at health care system reform in this ass backwards country, the bank transfer for paying my car loan not working (now I'm several days late) and the power supply fan in my office computer loudly indicating its imminent death.

If it means that much to you, feel free to berate me about anything else that comes to mind! The weather, the postal service... all my fault, you know. Martin

I've seen it on the news and I'm wondering why they don't want a proper healthcare system. Does everyone over there want to die of certain diseases and illnesses rather than be cured?
