I've been working on and off with #14 for a while now since I got stuff to put in it. When this is done and dusted I'm considering either going in a different direction with TLC or taking it behind the woodshed with a shotgun.

I was going to say you can put this in if you like, but it only makes sense in colour. (Unless you use a different font or indentation to replace each colour, I suppose.) Martin

Actually a black and white version of that would work if the right fonts were used.
I think I am going to need to through some stuff with you Martin, in regards to this in-limbo zine. I don't want to find out that I have copied out something I should have.
I am not sure if I have a copy of the TMUK Archive DVD or not, Martin. It could be the data DVD that was sent along with Star Fleet last year. If said DVD contains all the comic strips that I once reprinted in TLC and stuff continuing from it I'll cease using them.
- At one time TLC served a good purpose to those who missed out on the early CG2 strips. 'CG2's baby brother' I used to call it. Along the way I did print newer stuff and material that did'nt make it to CG2 such as the News of the World stories by Kevin Briggs. Maybe TLC's purpose (if it really had one) is done and dusted.
I will finish up the zine and decide whether or not it is worth continuing with. I like producing it, but maybe just because I am doing something does'nt mean I should.
I would'nt mind a shot at story stuff myself, although I think I'm better off at small amusing fun one shots to start with. I have you guys on here and of course George who could proof read.
Lots to think about. Too much.

It has pretty much all of CG2 in it and is available to all TMUKers who want it. It doesn't include Matt Dallas's Transtrip Scorpnok stuff though, so if (unlike me) he's still pleased to see his ancient stuff reprinted, carrying on with them would still be providing a service to people, even if they have the DVD. Ken, perhaps your fanzine is in need of a Reformatting? As you say, no point in doing it for the sake of it. Why not put a pin in the reprints and instead focus on what you enjoy most about The Transformers. You like reviewing toys. You like putting together photo/comic stories. You like those arty decoupage things. Those three things alone are enough to based fanzine on. Plus I am sure with a bit of thought you can come up with some other cool features as well. You could always make issue 14 a "best of TLC" edition, which I think would be popular with a lot of newer members who might not have seen a TLC before. Then with interest renewed, you can do a "relaunch" with issue 15 with the new direction. Just a few suggestions to start you off!

I'm certainly going to take on board what you guys have said. It's been silly of me to have concern over a zine I rarely produce when I have other stuff going on too.
Old Stuff I am still probably going to use but minimal in novelty. Perhaps it should promote the DVD which I can also copy from my end too.
My TMUK archive on paper is massive. Andy Dornan copied pretty much everything going before leaving for the states and I'm talking everything which probably took many hours or days even to do. I also have everything George has too.
I think a reboot sounds pretty sweet. I must admit I looked through some TLC stuff I did some years ago and cringed at it. I've come a long way since those days I'd like to think and show I am capable of much better.
When I am more in the fettle for fanzines, I'll come back and read through this thread again. I also think some consultation with folks before I dive straight in is also a must.
Thanks for helping.

That's cool, but as mentioned to death previously I'd prefer if you kept it within the TMUK family and not promote it at conventions, on other sites, and so on. But for now, sock it to 'em on the important real life stuff, Ken! Martin

Like I said on PM mate, you've got a good name for the zine and a relaunch and renumbering may help generate enthusiasm and creativity. If you ARE thinking about reprints still why don't you reprint Malaki Keller's Victory things? They were considered TMUK classic universe, George probably still has them, and I think only myself and Martin have actually seen them on here so they would be of much interest to all. You're also welcome to contribute to the 10 year itch that is my excuse for a zine

Loads of positive ideas have been brewing and the changes are actually exciting. Chris, I am open to help with Desolation since I've been onboard for over a decade .
