Indeed.
I once again feel like horse manure, though a full day's work looms. In an ideal world, I would have taken the full week off but hey ho. Best just get on with it best as possible.

Some spammer sent me an e-mail this morning that didn't actually mention anything but rather just had a link in the email. I wisely decided not to click on the link and quickly deleted the email because it seems that the same email was sent to everyone whose email started with the letters 'marmo'. It was obviously a potential virus waiting for me to click on the link if it was just being sent to peoples emails whose address fulfilled a particular criteria. I honestly don't know what people get out of sending such rubbish.

I remain infected and not back at work yet. If Ralph had not already genuinely excused himself from his forthcoming arse-whooping at Laser Quest this weekend I would be very suspicious.

I wouldn't have been fit for Laser Quest in any event. I still have the bug and this evening my arse has been exploding splendidly.

I have had a fairly poor day all told, between one thing and another, but here to save me from my plight and cheer me up are the Martians.
They are swiftly becoming my heroes. Yip, Yip, Yip, Uh-Huh, Uh-Huh.

Still under the weather here. I hope work passes swiftly. Then it will be dinner, bath, early night. Still waiting to find out about the money stolen from my account and not got new card yet. All told, not a great week. In other news, Pluto is turning red! news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/8499660.stm-Ralph

I love the fact that Pluto has, effectively, slow-motion seasons. At least you would know the likely weather trends for the forseeable future. A much better day to day. A few things have clicked back into place in my thinking that had come adrift recently. More to the point, my back has sorted itself out finally and I am no longer in danger of losing a competition with a Gi Joe figure as to how much articulation we have. Karl

A very frenetic but satisfying week this week, including some long hours and a trip to Swansea and back, but all missions accomplished, in-tray cleared, and now I have a week off to catch up on reading and gardening, with the odd Welsh male voice choir, before back into the fray.
Think I'll try to watch the two Christian Bale Batman films back to back at some point in the coming week.

Got my hands on a can of Lynx deoderant today called Rise which is another one of their citrus themed deoderants. The smell of citrus is actually so pungent that I think I'd rather spray it over my pancakes than over myself!

Sympathies to all lurgy sufferers. I too have been struck down. And how. It's turned my poo beige coloured?! What the freaks that about?! Starting to come out of it now. I think I went all of 2009 without actually being ill once. Broke a toe, injured my back and knee and scalded my hand at the sauna- but I wasn't actually sick. Well, made up for lost whatsanames with mother puss bucket. Dear God! What if it was Swine Flu?! AAARGH!! What if it was MAN-FLU!?!!!! I've had to call in sick at work, which I freakin' HATE.
'Course, Mrs Shockprowl had it, or something like it, the week before me, and it seemed to pass in 3 days. Spart arse women. Touch wood Piglet doesn't get it.
'Tis the season, I supose, for The Lurgy. But why the beige poo?! WHY?! FOR GOD'S SAKE WHY BEIGE POOOOO?!!!!!!

I was having a bad day until a meeting right at the end revealed that I've not been doing as badly as I thought I had.
Getting pretty stressed by not knowing what the **** is going on with my finances after Fraud Wanker Bastard hit my account.
We need more martians.

I think most of us tend to be a bit harsher on ourselves when it comes to doing things so it's good to see you are doing well at the new job.
Myself, the lurgy hit me yesterday, well late Thursday, early Friday morning. Had an away day conference thing and was toiling for most of it. Held my end up though but drained afterwards but unable to sleep.
Have a christening to go to today, must buy a gift and then as soon as is polite I will leave and curl up in bed. No way to spend a weekend!

Poo Colour: Just be glad you don't take Iron Tablets (I do - as well as everything else I'm Iron Deficent Anaemic) You'll be in for a shock the first time you visit the loo after starting those.
I am slightly concerned by Ian passing butterscotch Angel Delight but since he's the most medically trained of all of us I'm sure he'd know when to worry !

Good to hear Ralph! Make sure you get all official performance-related feedback from your managers in writing though!

Somebody seems to be having a laugh with a shop in my local village. On the window of the shop there used to be sign made up of individual letters that read 'Your Community Shop' but now somebody has removed the letters 'o, m, m, i and y' from the word 'community' to leave a certain four-letter word with an altogether different meaning!

Glad to hear that you are doing better than you thought you were Ralph. I tend to find that ones performance in a post often looks better to outsiders than it does to ones self - we are often to close to ourselves to assess our performance particularly effectively.
I got up a bit earlier than planned this morning - mostly because my back, whilst improved, is still twinging somewhat, most noticeably when I turn over in the night. As I was up by half seven I decided that I would make a flying visit to Edinburgh this morning. If I can't be in town by 09:30 on a Saturday I don't bother going shopping in Edinburgh - there are far too many people around by mid-morning and it makes the process a real chore.
I was looking for a pair of decent saucepans to replace the ones that were ruined last week. This has proved more difficult than one might think. Everywhere I looked it was easy to get saucepans with metal handles, attached with metal rivets or what-not to a metal saucepan. This strikes me as a rather obvious design flaw. They may look nice sitting in the kitchen cupboard, but once you use them the heat will be conducted along the handle, meaning that you need oven gloves to hold onto your saucepans...... It took a while, and has meant that I have had to pay a bit more, but I have tracked down saucepans with plastic handles. Worth it in terms of ease of use.
I also discovered by accident that there is now a shoe shop in Edinburgh that specialises in Ecco shows. As these are one of the few shoe makes I can comfortably wear (design flaw in the feet. Comes from my mothers side) I stopped off and spent rather lot more than I was planning, buying new pair of shoes to supplement my very worn current work pair. It is a hit to the monthly budget, but it was a good opportunity and has saved me a trip down to the North of England for shoes so I don't begrude it. I scrimp and save on other clothing, and don't see the point of going after "name" brand shirts and whatnot, but shoes are a different story. I will happily pay a premium for them if it means I can walk around in comfort.
(Besides, these are reddish-brown and rather natty-looking :-) ).

Had a nice walk up the canal for an hour and a half this morning. Despite the warmer weather we have had it is still frozen bank- to- bank for as far as I have explored.
Spent the afternoon with my feet up watching "Tomorrow Never Dies". Pierce Brosnan and Michelle Yeoh saving the world from an evil media baron's fiendish plot to get a broadcasting license in China. Excellent Sunday afternoon fodder.

Urgh! Zudobug doesn't know what colour his poo is! It could be... any colour!!! Martin It could be pink with blue spots for all I know! It's not something I tend to dwell on when visiting the shithouse! I think you should check, Zudo, and get back to us. I for one am intruiged by The Man Who Doesn't Know The Colour of His Own Poo! My poo is thankfully returned to normal colouration. And Phil is quite correct, one thing a paramedic does know alot about it is poo. Poo poo poo. I could tell you some poo stories, dear god. The flash-backs mostly come at night, mostly.

That is my important message of the day.

And mucus.
In fact, gentlemen of our age should regularly check our poo, our moles and our testicles.
