OK, so we often encounter bad films that looked good from the trailer. That's fair enough, it's the job of the people who make trailers to make films look good, whether they are or not.
But why oh why oh why do most film trailers I sit through make the films look like absolute pig-swill? I'm sure I'd be conned into seeing more films if they pitched better trailers, but they all come across as so _generic_.
Cue deep voice: "This year... same as last year... some CG animals... went on a quest... about nothing in particular... and some fat kid farted... and a woman discovered the love of her life... and a tough guy blew something up... and someone did a bit of a dance... you have never experienced this before..."
Sigh.

What film is that from? I want to see it! On a (slightly) more serious note if the film is absolutely dire then no amount of glitter can make a turd look good!

I dunno, the trailers for Star Wars episode 1 and Star Trek Generations were microcosms of excitement that hid the true turkey within.
